Are Reyes' Days of Being a Spark Over?

"You come from a ballclub that was competing for a spot in the playoffs. And you come to a club in last place. You think about that. ... I'm at the point in my career that I want to win. I say it over and over. I want to win. I don't want to spend the rest of my career on a last-place team. That's not the kind of player I feel like I am."

This is the other side of the coin when you chase the money to the Marlins.

Yeah I guess he is eating crow now but it appears like he is very unhappy right now.

If he wanted to win he should have given more of a shit in 07 and 08 with the Mets when they still had a legit chance. He would consistently have first pitch pop outs and inopportune times, you constantly got the sense that he was in cruise control instead of going all out, etc. As stated, he signed with the Marlins who were a joke. He just wants to be in a city more exotic than Denver.

Talented player for sure, think he'll probably force his way out of Colorado for 2016 and land with a contender.

Yep, he would just mentally check out. I saw him get picked off 2nd base in consecutive games.

Talking out like this will not endear him to any contending teams, though. He comes across as a HORRIBLE teammate.

I have not followed his career too closely to this point, but based on Mets fans when he went to Miami, he was not a huge loss to them.

If I were a fan of a contending team that needed a SS, Reyes wold be quite low on my wish-list.

He's a mercenary. His natural talent will see him playing for at least another 5 years, but it wouldn't surprise me to see him on 4 different teams in that time. Pain in the ass and overpaid.
