If this really happens, then we can finally say that LeBron's time of winning rings is over...

"The Goldent State Warriors’ plan of pursuit predates their 2015 championship run, a bold plot to declare the futility of resistance. It isn’t only that the NBA champions are determined to recruit Oklahoma City’s Kevin Durant. The truth is that they’re the most intriguing destination to him. If Durant leaves the Thunder, the Warriors are the significant frontrunners to sign him, league sources told The Vertical...."

I personally don't think that is likely - The Warriors do not need Durant

The Warriors already have 74 million committed for next year by the way, so that would be a huge price tag to add the guy

It's more likely Durant ends up signing w/ either the Knicks or Lakers.

Based on what? Every year people speculate that top free agents will sign in NY and LA. While that sounds nice, both franchises are a mess. It is highly unlikely that a prime superstar would sign with a mediocre team that they don't have any ties with, regardless of how big the market is. KD is about winning.

Here are the 3 most likely, in order:

1) OKC- still the front runner
2) GS- I believe the hype
3) Washington- KD's home town: yeah, they are a bit of a mess too, but with a new coach and a KD/Wall pairing, they would be as tough as anybody in the East

Whatever you say pal. You seem to be the expert on this topic.

I am making no claims as to where Durant will land - I just know that it won't be the Knicks - keep dreaming.

Doesn't he play the same position as Melo?

Unless they trade Melo to Okc, in which case, why would Durant want to go to a worse situation?

Im not saying it's impossible....Market might be attractive.

But, they would have to get Horford and a quality pg to even begin to be attractive enough...imo

Uhhhhhh, what about that kid from San Diego State that plays the same position?

I mean, he's clearly a project with very little upside on either end of the court.

But,........:pound:

@CitySushi had an interesting suggestion on the Woj Bomb thread...Atlanta. Says they'd have to let Horford walk, but makes a logical argument about why it makes sense.

Blake Griffin will be the one to get traded back to his home town....OKC.
His days in LA are close to being numbered now.

Blake should be traded to the Nuggets for Faried, Will Barton and Darrell Arthur.

Helps the Clips immediately filling two positional needs in Faried and Barton. With Faried and Jordan, they would dominate the boards. Barton would provide a significant upgrade over their current SF position and provide much more scoring. Arthur would be a nice backup piece and has a great mid-range shot. Also CP3 isn't getting any younger and they need guys who can immediately contribute.

Blake would push the Nuggets back into playoff territory next year, with a really competitive roster. They would have Mudiay, Wilson Chandler, Gallo, Griffin, Jokic, with Jurkic, Nelson, Harris, Foye and a high draft pick.

Win-win for both teams.

If it were for Durant, I'd be fine with that.

Even if Kevin isn't an option, it might be time to break the band up in LA.

:hellno:

Love Manimal.

But, he has the same limitations as DeAndre offensively.

High energy, hustle guy...zero post game outside of dunks.
