He really would fit in perfectly for what we need. He is tough, has wheels, can make a solid first pass and is a great character. I really hope GMGM makes this work. I also wouldn't mind bringing Christ on ice back foe depth. With Juice and ShaMo signed elsewhere we need the physicality.

Mitchell would also ease into our cap nicely. I would have taken his game over Martin, Michalek or Volchenkov who are not the type of d man we need and we should be able to get him for about half the price and half the term.

3 years 8 million seems about right.

He isn't fast at all. decent pass out of the zone, but not outstanding.
His strength (and I think he is possibly the best in the game at this), is positional play in his own zone, with outstanding reach that can really take away passing lanes. Phenomenally useful on a penalty kill. He's just a tremendous steadying presence in your own zone.

Willie and the caps are a match made in heaven . That being said I agree with Puckhead , If there was only a way we could bring him back and dump Alberts and Bieksa.
