Report I saw said it wasn't. It said he's been dealing with a hernia for some time and it finally got too painful for him. Which sounds stupid. Seriously WWE, take care of your guys.

The report I saw said part of his intestines got wrapped around the hernia yesterday morning causing intense pain and requiring emergency surgery. The WWE broke live into their network yesterday afternoon to announce the emergency surgery.

That sounds about right. Him being off TV could be good for all parties, as I think the backlash against him was starting and he needs to freshen his look, anyway (all of the former Shield members really need to get as far away from that look as possible). Plus, quite frankly, Dean Ambrose will be better off in the spotlight.
