ASHBURN, Va. -- The Washington Redskins haven't been worth the price of admission for their fans for more than a year. But now, as their record continues to get worse, that price has plummeted.

The franchise that once boasted of a season-ticket wait list near 100,000 people now has a team whose tickets are being sold online for as little as $4.

Seats behind the Redskins' bench for Sunday's game are going for a mere $91.

According to the website seatgeek.com, which re-sells tickets and also tracks the market, some tickets for Sunday's game against the St. Louis Rams are selling for $4 with standing-room tickets a dollar cheaper.

Even on stubhub.com, there were more than 6,400 tickets for sale starting at $5.25 -- far less than the $10 cost to watch the Virginia High School League football playoffs.

That's quite a comedown for a franchise that always sold out thanks to a large and passionate fan base. The capacity of FedEx Field has been reduced over the years from 91,000 to 79,000. But with the Redskins reeling at 3-9 and with fan apathy increasing, the demand to watch a game against a 5-7 team is low.

The tickets being sold this past week averaged $31, the cheapest tickets since the 2009 season -- the second year of the failed Jim Zorn era. Near the end of that season, owner Dan Snyder made grand changes in the organization, firing then-executive vice president Vinny Cerrato and hiring Bruce Allen as general manager and, eventually Mike Shanahan.

The website also reported that the so-called "Dream Seats" -- behind the Redskins' sideline -- are available for $91, several hundred dollars below face value. And, according to the site, only the Redskins, Vikings, Rams and Raiders have played home games for which tickets have been resold at an average price of less than $40.

It doesn't help that the player who once provided hope for this starving fan base, quarterback Robert Griffin III, is now a cause of frustration. His future in Washington is in doubt, with the coaching staff uncertain how long it will take him to develop. But the franchise made a heavy investment in getting him and some in the organization want to give him more chances to improve.

Will Dan Snyder sell?

Question is should you be charged with child abuse for feeding that crap to your kid.

Kids want it,they scream for it with the little toys they market,i have a Big Mac every now and then i admit it.

Now Chucky Cheese wow what a rip off i went there with my cousin and his kids and like thirty others for his kids birthday as guests, the pizza sucked and the kids wanted coins to spend for all the games there, what a ripoff, over 400$ that hit him.

Hard to see such a great franchise fall so far. On the bright side I guess you can view it in the way of families can actually afford to go to a game for once so those who have never gone to a game finally have a chance to maybe go for cheap.

Thanks for the tip...getting ready to have my first kid and will definitely be avoiding Chucky Cheese now when they get older. Hopefully I can explain to my son that instead of $400 at Chucky Cheese we can go watch a Bronco game with decent seats for that price and probably get more time for our money.

Silver lining, hell i would go to a game at those prices,i recall the Mariners giving out tickets one year for almost free if you brought a canned good for the entry fee.

The product on the field sucks, the Skins players suck, FedEx field is nothing more than lackluster, getting to and from Landover from the DC metro area is always a nightmare, and they may have one of, if not the worst owners in professional sports.

Other than that, no idea why no one would want to go?

Hah question is will Mrs Cdum allow it,if she wants Chucky with the wives she most likely will have it as little Cdum whines, but then again i could be way off base, but when that kid comes you will be second fiddle at best lol.

Chucky and his friends and Ronald McDonald will rule the day.

They should offer free pizza or something, just don't do what they did here in Seattle with Beer night, things get ugly real fast.

Best thing is let seniors and kids say under twelve in for free.

Oh you are right...Mrs. cdumler rules the house. Pretty much what she says goes. Although she does seem to have a soft spot for my love of the Broncos so she would understand the idea of taking the kid to a Bronco game. She would probably say "as long as I get to go too then I have no problem with it."

DC beltway has the most largest market aside from the NY metro area,it encompasses the three state area where most of the federal spending is done, they are immune to downturns for the most part in the economy.

COLA's and such and the multitude of government business that guarantees that.

Dan Snydor wouldn't ever do anything like that. The personal Papa Johns at FedEx is like $13

I live here and understand all that.

This area also is the most educated in the country. People aren't dumb. Why would I go waste an entire Sunday watching a crap product, paying more than I most likely would in other markets?

He's a cheap bastard for one,i bet he is holding out for taxpayers to pay for some upgrade,i recall they put heated metal pylons into the field years ago and it was a bad mistake, they need to tear it down and build another stadium.

They absolutely do, but since Snydor owns the stadium, the moment another stadium is built, he's sitting on a worthless asset. He knows better than to allow that to happen.

Oh those Ivy league Martha's Vineyard group that lives on trust funds and leave the city at the drop of the hat?

Yah seen it,most educated is a misnomer look at what they did on Wall $treet.
