Gentleman and lady, we are officially repeating the "scab" season with respects to our offensive line. For those of you who can't recall it or were too young to know that season was 1987, the regulars were on strike and we, like every other team in the NFL, put together an assortment of the not so pleasingly plump, men who looked at a menu and said, "OK" and curious fat guys who had an orbit. Last week we got previously cut players, this week the scouts will be trolling the local fast food joints.

Redskins fans, is there something in the drinking water in the DC area causing all of these injuries or what? We have been riding our defense so far to a 6-3 record with one of the worst offenses in the league but I think we all know that we've got to find a way to start scoring more points if we plan to compete with any of the big boys that do not play in the weak NFC East.

My buddy Sty will be in charge of tryouts tomorrow morning at Redskins Park and if you are not one of the walking wounded you are encouraged show up since there are roster spots available.

Football Injury News and Analysis - Rotoworld.com

Take a look at the injury list for all NFL teams. Not many other NFL teams have a list as long as the one for the Redskins & it looks the Skins lead the NFL in season ending injuries. This on the heels of basically the same thing happening last season.

Some of this perhaps is related to field conditions or how the team is run, but I would have to guess that a lot of this is just bad luck. Jeez - you would think that they are due for a relatively injury free 2019 season - right? Ah - maybe not.

Don't know if it is true or not but they say Callahan works these guys after practice and maybe they are getting over worked. Need proof that they are actually working extra but just a rumor I heard on the radio. Maybe just plain old bad luck.

There could be something to that. However on the flip side some will argue that NFL mandated reduced practices, training camp work, etc has also led to some of these injuries. You just can't win & the media always has to try to put some type of spin on this type of thing when it just might be bad luck. You would think that if the extra work was the main issue that they would change that after all of the O line injuries they encountered last season.
