I thought Kai was the worst kickoff guy in the league? Plus isn't Henery younger?

Henery and Kai are about 2 weeks apart in age, both born in 1987. Henery has kicked in the NFL for 3 years, Kai for 2 (his rookie season in Dallas he didn't stick).

Both have been below league average in KO distance and touchbacks, both have declined in that category each year, and Kai is slightly worse than Henery, close to league bottom in 2013.

No problem. When I saw Henery had got cut, I also immediately thought he might be the answer. So I researched his situation and stats and it does appear he's a tiny bit better than Kai on KOs and a tiny bit worse than Kai on FGs, so not really the big upgrade we might be seeking. I think Kai will be fine on FGs for us, but his KO's needed work last year. I think he's improved on them in preseason, so lets hope its good enough.

About these cuts.........S Phillip Thomas, K Zach Hocker, CB Chase Minnifield, RB Lache Seastrunk, RB Chris Thompson.


1.The P. Thomas cut was a bit of a surprise, albeit he is injury prone and likely to clear waivers. The team is gambling on that and most likely are prepared to resign him in the coming week depending on the severity of his latest setback.


2. Z. Hocker, simply put, it all came down to one moment, a missed 39 yarder. The job was his to lose and that one kick cost him.


3. Chase Minnifield, Look for Washington to resign him quickly, he has both the size and versatility to play corner and safety. They will thank their lucky stars to have him back once the season unfolds and D. Hall who plays well against Dallas won't have that opportunity in the other 14 games. His value as the backup safety will prove invaluable this year considering who's currently on the roster.


4. Lache Seastrunk, Chris Thompson one I could see, but not both. Either offers Washington something that this team has lacked for decades. Now they are both at risk to be lost through the waiver system. Washington is gambling that one at least makes it through the next 24 hours, I wouldn't bet that the one who does is Seastrunk. Chris Thompson who team officials thought to be injury prone did play without injury in the last preseason game is more likely to clear waivers, but considering his upside I wouldn't count on that either.

So when Merri comes back T. Robinson is gone. When Bowen comes back Kearse is gone and when Sharpton comes back Jordan is gone. Hankerson who cares. Just cut him now.

Ha! He is a HUGE mammoth of a guy. just needs to put his hands up to deflect a ball, add some skills and could be a very nice addition indeed.
