Redd was the best all around back that is why he made the team. I am happy for him. Im guessing Thompson clears waivers and we get him on the PS. Seasturunk wont clear waivers he will be gone. It doesn't matter b/c they are the same back anyways. Hockers miss in the last pre-season game did him in. I believe if he hits that kick he wins the job b/c of his KO ability. There is still a possibility we will have another kicker before week 1.


Royster, Chase, Nick Williams, and Brown are no surprise at all. Phil Thomas was a surprise at first but he will clear waivers b/c he is hurt. No team will pick up a hurt guy to there 53 man roster. So we might get him on our practice squad. Smart move by the Skins.

I doubt 'Strunk makes it to our PS. Some other team that just lost a RB or needs depth will sign him to their 53. No one else we've cut so far will get picked up (or if they do its no big loss). Thomas was a shame, he looked like he could play, just can't stay healthy.

That is correct, Redd was the best all around NEW back in camp this year. I said that on here when they signed him as an UFA. Seastrunk had a big play against third team and people want to keep him based on one play. j_y was right also. There is a lot more to the game than one play in preseason. It was common knowledge that Seastrunk struggled in pass pro and in the pass game. He did not run the zone run plays well either, he frequently cut back too early and did not press the play as designed. Now his speed and cutback ability made it work against mostly 3rd team players but wouldn't have played as well against first teamers.

Seastrunk has great speed and could be big play type back but he was going to be buried on the depth chart by better players. But he needs to be stashed on PS squad or depth chart for a year or two. Look at Aldrick Robinson, people are waiting 3-4 years later for football talent to catch up with his speed.

No to Henery.

Henery is coming off a below average 2013 performance where he kicked 82.1% on field goals (22nd) and had a second-to-last average kickoff distance of of 64.7 yards (31st). Henery had every opportunity to quiet his doubters this summer. And he didn't do it. With misses from 31 and 47 in the preseason -- which is admittedly a small sample size -- his struggles have only continued. In fairness to Henery, his kickoffs have improved (70.3 average distance), but maybe that's just not enough.

Kai is already better than Henery.

I really don't like the Seastrunk cut. Wish we'd had enough room to carry 1 more RB. I get the reasoning but I liked the youth, elusiveness and speed.

Just can't see him clearing waivers. Then again, Silas probably wouldn't have either and he seems to be ready to contribute sooner to the O. Tough decision. I'll have to have faith in Jays decision...

Really wanted to see Lache as a skin...maybe we will get lucky...and we will see him on the practice squad. Sure that is the hope, just don't see it happening...

Henery career - 86%, 2/5 from 50+,
Forbath career - 87.5%, 2/3 from 50+

Both are well below NFL average on kickoff distance and touchbacks.


We need a better overall kicker than Kai, but Henery ain't it.
