Mike Jones of the Washington Post reports the Redskins are in negotiations to promote QBs coach Matt Cavanaugh to offensive coordinator.
This has been the expected outcome since OC Sean McVay left to take a head-coaching job with the Rams last week. With Cavanaugh ascending to offensive coordinator, Kevin O'Connell is expected to take over as the Redskins' QBs coach. O'Connell spent last year as an offensive assistant for the 49ers. Head coach Jay Gruden is expected to handle play-calling duties on offense next season. Jan 22 - 12:52 PM
