Lackey has a season WHIP of 1.222 and a K/BB ratio of 8.0

Nolasco, 30 years old in his 7th season with what I call the "Smogtowners" has
a 1.301 WHIP and 7.3 ratio according to Baseball-Reference.com - MLB Stats, Standings, Scores, History.

I personally will get more pleasure out of beating LA, a city I've never desired to visit,
than in beating San Francisco, which I have a favorable image of.

FYI, there is one poster on the Dodger forum who thinks they're more likely
to lose the Capuano-Peavy matchup than the Ryu-Lester one. Until I get around to
doing some websurfing on Ryu I have to disagree.

StRays beat the Sinstripes this afternoon, which reduces our lead but also
increases the chances of a Sinstripe-free post-season.

More bad news for the Sinstripes: Baltimore also won today. Which puts them 1 1/2 games
ahead of NY in the Wild Card hunt.

Interesting choice. I grew up halway between SF and LA. in a town where baseball was big and rivalries were strong. I have lived in both areas. I was born in and love Boston. Can't imagine why someone from Boston would like SF and not like LA....You have been to neither? What do you really know?

Southieinnc, I've never been to either, actually, but have long visualized the SF-LA rivalry being comparable to
the Boston-NYC one, with San Francisco being the Boston analog.

Peavy has been good so far, but it would be nice if tonight's Dodger starter
performs in a way that merits the nickname some Dodger fans have given him.
