Its warming up fellows. 15 days to prepare. Not even sure we had 300 yrds. Bye week, JJ makes huge splash trade that looks really good by the way, Wit in the house, playing an average team- just bad all the way around. Embarrassing.

I would take this season being a horrible season if it guaranteed the Clappers firing!

This has to win most creative thread title to date. Pretty good. Looks like the division is Phillys to lose. Dead team walking in Washington and Dallas cant figure it out. Big damn games next week in Philly and Tampa. Good luck.. both teams need it.

Not sure the old man fires Garrett since he likes his puppet, Howdy Doody. He should have fired him a while ago. The man has one playoff win. Was stripped of his play calling duties already and then hired Scott L and now back to a mediocre offense again. Garrett has gotten everything he wants and still can’t deliver. The only problem is who would he hire that could tolerate him? Seriously. A young Star coach would be another puppet. An established coach Won’t tolerate him.

My guess is Linehan gets fired next. Red J will get every chance, because Jerrah's deep dark secret is no one wants to be his HC.

Linehan should be fired today. Weeks ago, even. That said, I think it is a ridiculous assertion that no one wants to coach one of the most popular sports franchises the world over. Maybe some of the old guard retreads might not want to work for Jerry, but no doubt there are plenty of capable young up-and-comers who would die for a chance to coach the Dallas Cowboys. The real question is can Jerry identify them?

Nothing happens until the final gun in the Meadowlands on 12/30.

After that... It's gonna be "Susie - get the sweeper."

Look at the past 20 years. If it is such an attractive job, why has it gone to the likes of Dave Campo, Jason Garrett, Chan Gailey and Barry Switzer? The only legit coach the team has hired since Jimmy Johnson was Bill Parcells. Not coincidentally, that was the last time they really looked to be headed in the right direction. But Bill could not take working for Jerry and quit.

This is "morning after loss to bad team" fordman comments, so take them for what they are worth...

I'm done with Red
I'm done with Linehan
We should never have let Callahan go
I'm done with Dak
I'm done with Sean Lee

I loved Coopers routes, hope he can keep giving it his all when his QB can't hit him on a route.

As much as I like to joke, you can't throw Dak under the bus yet. He has shown some promise. See what he can do with a real offensive coordinator first. And yes, a real o-line coach for the "vaunted o-line" also would help. Truth is, the o-line still lacks the requisite depth to be a good NFL unit. That's on the GM as much as coaches.

The best coach on the Cowboys is Marinelli and it is not even close. He has done a lot with some patchwork talent these past few years.

Lol! I hear ya man.

Cooper's routes looked good, he does s great job selling his fakes/faints.

I'm done with this coaching staff, for sure. Don't think I'm ready to write Dak off yet, because his coaches suck. Want to see Dak under different guidance before writing him off.

I think Callahan didn't want to stay in Dallas. Don't think he was fired.

Great thread title.:suds: Sadly I think it's true as well. I think Garrett brings a lot of good to a Football team, but at some point what you do on Sundays is what matters and he is still lacking there. Case in point, does anyone ever think when Garrett throws the challenge flag it's a good idea? I almost always find myself yelling "NO" after he throws it and wonder what the Hell he is looking at.

I thought it was a poor job by Booger and Witten to keep saying the same thing about taking chances over and over because it was clearly premeditated and not spur of the moment and when you go into a game looking for something, you will see it. But, that being said, there is of course a lot of truth to it and we are still just too predictable and that is on Garrett and Linehan. I'll say it for the 100th time. The damn screen on 3rd and 16 is asinine and frustrating to watch. A screen doesn't work in that situation when the team expects it and we do it over and over and I don't think it has worked yet. It's almost like we are so afraid that we are playing field position on 3rd and 16 instead of trying for a first down and to win the game. Our formation alone tells us most of the time if it's run or pass. And why in the Hell do we keep giving Zeke the ball so deep and without momentum inside the 3 and on short yardage. Part of the beauty of running the ball on 1st and goal from the 3 is to at least gain a yard and make it 2nd and goal from the 2 or 2 and a half. We could have run 4 QB sneaks and 90% chance we get a TD there instead of that interception. You don't want to ever lose yards there. We don't even attempt a power running game in those spots most times. I'm not absolving Dak from his role in that interception, but we played that horribly.

I think when Garret is fired we actually bring in the next Jimmy/Parcells and then 3 years from now there's a messy divorce.

I think part of the playcalling problems stem from an identity crisis on offense. The Cowboys offense is built to run the ball, obviously, but Garrett/Linehan want so badly for this team to be a passing offense. With that in mind they do some of the stupid shit you outlined - like continuously throwing it in goal to go situations. Makes me think back to the 2016 playoff game against GB when dak threw the pick 6 on the bubble screen to Dez - why weren't we running it there?

And I remember how much cap hell Cowboys were in after switzer. Had a bunch of scrubs. And BP didn't do shit for the Boys personnel wise either. Ran off some of our greats and I will never think him as much more than a dickhead.

Well Switzer was Jerry answer to any 500 coaches could take this team to the SB. Chan Gailey was a terrible hire Campo was a caretaker because of salary cap hell Parcells was hired to help put a winner on the field to build the stadium. Wade Phillips was a bad Hire and Garrett has been a disaster after a promising start as OC. In summary it’s not the Team it’s the guy picking the HC that seems to be one common denominator
On Dak he is not the guy IMHO a bus driver not a star but right now he has lost his drivers license

Saying the choices for head coach were poor decisions and saying it's not an attractive job are two completely different things. Some of those guys were hired from within so not coming with a strong resume. Cowboys are one of the best jobs in the NFL for a HC to take even with Jerry and in some ways because of Jerry and even though there hasn't been any recent success. It's one of the highest profile jobs in sports and they also have a lot of young talent. The idea that Jerry is still intimately involved in everything from "jocks to socks" is inaccurate. He makes the final call on most items but he isn't making the day to day decisions, he's blessing them after someone else makes them

Dak has not looked like a franchise qb over the last 16 games. If we exteND him it better be on a team friendly deal or let him go elsewhere. I am tired of garret as well.
