That shit will wear off when they continue to middle around in the ACC. Pitt will come in and pass them quickly in the Coastal and they will head down another notch. I give London three more years that will go something like this:

6-6
7-5
4-8
7-5
6-6

46, you can't be serious. Pitt has been awful since Walt Harris left, and they continue to hire lame duck coach after lame duck coach. Accoridng to R____s, UVa has had a better recruiting class 8 of the past 10 years. UVa is a program on the slow rise, while Pitt is on a fast downward spiral.

Nope. Last season they got very lucky to end up in the Chick-Fil-A bowl. And got mowed by a pretty bad Auburn team.

Also, 4 of their W's came by 3 points or fewer. Next year I doubt they end up on the lucky end of those. They could have very easily been 4-9 with a team full of seniors.

4 of VT's wins came by 7 points or fewer, you all could have just as easily finished 7-5 as you did 11-1.

CFB makes a living off of keeping the fans nervous, winning close games, playing down to competition .. haha

The difference is next season VT will be BETTER and next season UVA will be WORSE..

38-0 in your house + VT better in '12 + UVA worse in '12 + game in theBurg ~= the worst ass-whipping that UVA has ever been handed

that's engineering mathematics, not 'math for the liberal arts major' .. hehe

The thing that will hurt Uva next year is that they are losing some good Defensive players (Dline in particular). They may have some guys step up, but this coupled with the fact that they still do not have a QB will be enough to keep them from being serious contenders. Me say they will end up around .500. Maybe a win over if they have all them breaks go their way and are able to eek by Idaho and Indiana in OT again..

I don't see you applying that logic in reverse to the basketball team!

Back to football, however, how did the 38-0 win at UVA not convince you? How many close games did UVA win, so what would their record have been had they lost those "close" games?

Kwontie Moore should be able to contribute at NT from day 1.

Not sure why you are dragging basketball into this, but I will play along.
The basketball team has won 2 games by 1 possession, and they have lost 4 games by 1 possession. Could easily be 22-0 or 16-6.

that 38-0 win could have easily been between 50 and 60 to zero. Beamer has too much class. I wish I was coach for the last quarter of that game. Wouldn't have pulled any punches.

38-0. 47-45.

I still don't see why ya'll keep trying to bring basketball into this, it's just to bad that 47-45 win over UVa isn't going to help VT make the NCAA Tourney, while UVa will get in just fine.

Wouldn't be confident of that. UVA RPI is 42 and steadily going down. A lot of games left too. VT knows a thing or two about being on the cusp and feeling confident.

UVa has been in every game that lost this year, and all 4 loses have been by a combined 10 points. I see UVa going 5-3 down the stretch, with loses to UNC, FSU and Maryland. We should make it to Day 3 of the NCAA Tourney, and that will be more than enough to make the NCAA Tourney.

being in every game doesnt mean anything. it sucks how it works, but if you win by 1, it may as well have been a blowout victory. If you lose by 1, they judge it as if it was a blowout loss. Love it or hate it, that's how the system works. Uva has a solid shot, and they are IN as of now. We wouldn't have brought basketball into it, because the truth is that basketball just isn't that important to us. That being said, it is always good to be able to prod your rivals. It is in good fun when it comes to basketball. Fight to the death if it involves football.

I mentioned basketball only because using your logic, Va Tech could easily have a better record than UVA in basketball this season. I was merely pointing out the significant flaw in your logic, as that "what-if" game can be applied either way.

Certainly, UVA won a few close games in football this year, but their losses against Virginia Tech and in their bowl game weren't among those. By the same standard, one "outside of the norm" replay reversal cost Va Tech the Sugar Bowl title.

The actual results are the ones that stand, and are therefore the only ones that are meaningful.
