I'd love to talk about how FA's like Greg Hardy or Henry Melton would be perfect fits for our D, but since we are broke, here's hoping for a great draft. At 16, the Cowboys should be able to find an impact starter, like DT Tim Jeringan or S HaHa Dixon. Even an OT like Cyrus Kouandjio would be great. Good Luck Jerry, we need to kill it

Would LOVE Melton. Not too sure on the 1st round draft prospects this year, I'll be into that from now on since the season is over.

Would think DT is our first pick, unless theres a player at a different position (DE/LB/FS/OG/RT) that you want.

Melton with his injury and off field issues might drive down his price

he is a player just don't know if he will be affordable to Dallas

I say no to Melton. We are already have too man contracts with injured players. Will Sean Lee even play again? His neck ligaments may be permanently ruined

I wanted us to draft Larry Warford and we took Escobust instead. Would my pick have been better than Jerrahs?

TEs seem to take a little time to develop. I dont know how much Witten has left. He had a fine year no doubt. Hearing JG talk after the game, he almost teared up it seemed when talking about Wit. I think we need to wait a bit before defining Escobar. This year alone though. I would agree with Warford

Every mock draft I've looked at thus far has us taking D Line which I think is very deep (or at least top heavy) in this draft so I don't think there are many bad picks there. Assuming we go D line that is.

well, you know what that means don't you?

JERRY: THis is a deep defense draft they are saying on ESPN, so let's wait and get a value guy later and gamble with our first rounder. How about that kid who only played his position one year and looked overmatched, but he shows heart? Sounds like 1st round material. Besides, I owe his daddy a favor. :gaah:

Edit: that "father" joke was aimed at Barbie, not Jeffcoat.

That's true. "Jerry there are 5 or 6 d lineman we could take that are as close to can't miss as you can get, we desperately need youth on the d line!"

"Yes but did you see that receiver? He ran a 4.3 and he's 6'5"!"

"But sir, he has terrible hands, can't run routes, is projected as a 4th rounder and is borderline literate."

"Perfect"

Ha, nah, Jerry would pass on the 6'5'' WR running 4.3 too. Troy, Emmitt, Michael.....and Randy Moss. 16-0 baby

I am not all that impressed with the top rated defensive lineman. We need to go BPA even if that is a qb. I would not mine seeing us go OL if there is someone really good. Looking at next years schedule i think we need to fortify OL. We have horrible depth. Look at how bad our safties are. If there is a top notch cover safety we have to consider it. Heath covered nobody and was horrible. So bpa of DL,S and OL

I just looked closely at this schedule. I think we need to take an offensive lineman in the 1st 3 rounds. We need to draft a guy that can come in and maul in case there is an injury. This schedule is brutal. We need to draft well and get the injured players back and have them stay healthy. Otherwise we are looking at 3 or 4 wins

Because dominating teams win with dominating line play. DLine might make more sense but the last thing Dallas needs is another star offensive weapon. THey've got that covered. OLine and DLine round one every year is fine with me!
