biddle has pitched 5 shutout innings so far tonight. 1 hit, 8 k's, 0 walks.

cam perkins is still batting over .400.

tommy joseph keeps getting stronger. rbi single tonight, 10-26 with a couple homers in his last 7 games.

if joseph plays to his ability, the phils might have to trade him or rupp down the line.

perkins is batting .406, .449 obp, 1.121 ops. hit .299 last year with clearwater, .294 the year before (his first.)

giles saved the 1-0 win. now at 10 innings, 4 hits, 0 earned runs, 3 walks and 19 k's. no rush to bring him up though. i guess because our pen is so good?

Yup. We have shawn camp who throws an overpowering fastball at about 87 mph. Then we have aumont, defratus, and rosenberg who are all waiting to get promoted to the bigs for about the tenth time. giles needs "seasoning"...maybe ready in 2016-17.

tough night for reading...ken giles gave up his 1st earned run of the season which blew a save opportunity and severino gonzalez for the most part got lit up, even though he was the victim of some shoddy fielding which included an error by 3B cesar hernandez.

on the bright side, joseph is still hot. 2-5 with a homer and double. .861 ops now on the year after a horrible start.

Giles with his 7th save tonight in the pouring rain up in portland. Severino Gonzalez pitched well and cam perkins had a couple more hits to keep his average above .370
