No way should we move Brooks to ILB. Either we re-sign Bowman or move on with either Grant or someone else.

Because you don't think he can play ILB at a high level, or because he's too valuable at OLB?

Also IF (and that's a big IF) we find a franchise QB - then we don't need to over pay for some other positions. If we have an elite QB, we don't need to resign both Iupati AND Davis, for example.

Also Willis' contract was front loaded, which should help in resigning Bowman. Willis received almost 20mil of his 29mil guaranteed these last two years.

Well, I don't think the issue is which one to keep. I think Bowman is gone regardless. 20 million a season is too much money to pay a couple of ILBs.

having bowman and willis in the middle gives us a lot of options on d.

True story. That's what I was trying to allude earlier. Willis, by year, has some insane fluctations in terms of cap hit but like you're mentioning, he's already or receiving the major bulk of it by now.

Another thing is that Brooks' contract is averaging ~ 7.4 mil per year. Don't know how much of that was backloaded, but you probably won't save much money by moving him inside compared with someone else.

I think you're right. I'd try to trade him in the offseason regardless of what happens in the postseason.

I'd definitely look into trading him in the offseason. Might as well see what we could get for him as I doubt we will be able to hold on to him.
