1. SEC - Big wins by LSU and UGA keep the SEC atop the rankings.
2. Pac 12 - Nothing really of substance in terms of quality wins as a whole, but are still the 2nd best conference IMO based on results from this weekend.
3. Big 12 - Oklahoma State and WVU held their own against the #1 and #2 teams respectively.
4. Big 10 - picked up a couple of nice wins against Wazzu and UCF. Wisconsin and NW losing hurts the west. Other teams didn't really look that great against bad competition.
5. ACC - Clemson getting blown out really hurts the perception, especially if they turn out to be the 2nd best team in the end which I think they will.

As of today, yes. UCLA was horrid on offense, and Oregon allowed 13 points to South Dakota...what gives?

And #25 Washington pulled out a 1pt win over.....Hawaii

I guess they need more ESPN hype to hold on to their obviously well deserved rankings.

Big12 > Pac12

I'd still say the Pac is slightly better. Seems to me like they still have more quality teams. Oregon, UCLA(even though they didn't look great) Stanford, USC, Arizona State.

Saying UCLA didn't look great is a huge understatement. I watched that game, UCLA didn't win, Virginia lost. I remember when the game was something like 21-10 and all the points had been scored while Virginia was on offense.

Don't put that crap on the team. That fuckwad coach we have calling all those 3rd and ten draws, and then trying to put all the blame on John's. If not for John's we wouldn't have been close after that second quarter.

They still got a true road win, across country, for a 9 am start time for them. UVA does have a pretty good defense as well. I think it was just a tough spot for them. Although I did think they would look better. Even if they aren't a playoff contender, I still think they are definitely a top 15 type of team.

Give UCLA a pass.

it was one of those early start times during a freakishly humid weekend in the mid-atlantic.

Virginia felt like Mississippi. It was unbearably humid.

You can always find great betting value by picking the underdog east coast team at home for early start time vs a West Coast team.

And if its really humid...bet the farm on the underdog.

Iowa State lost to NDSU.
Texas Tech struggled with Central Arkansas.
West Virginia LOST
Oklahoma State LOST

K State 39 point win
TCU 34 point win
Oklahoma 32 point win
Texas 31 point win

Not one of the Big 12 wins was even against one of the other Power 5 conferences. The only conference that did not have a win against one of the other Power 5.

Sure, those are quality losses. Is there a column for that in the Win Loss Standings?

Kansas has yet to play their SE Missouri State game.

Michigan State 38 point win
Michigan 38 point win
Nebraska 48 point win
Indiana 18 point win
'Maryland 45 point win
Minnesota 28 point win
Purdue and Iowa did struggle but won, just like T Tech.

Not one of the Big 12 wins was a road game.

Ohio State did struggle with Navy, but not bad for losing their star QB the week before.

I say it is too early to make a decision other than the SEC does look the best. The rest are all about even.

ACC lost to SEC and PAC 12 and Sunbelt
Big 12 lost to SEC, ACC, and FCS team.
B1G lost to PAC 12 and SEC
SEC lost to SEC, lost to Temple
PAC 12 lost to B1G and WAC

And the Wisconsin loss is a quality loss like West Virginia and Oklahoma State losses are.

OSU and WV lost. Both lost to top 2 teams. Neither are predicted to be good this year. WV isn't considered to be a bowl team. Many believe OSU is a 7 win team. Anyone knocking the conference for those loses as 0 clue.

OP subject is best conferences

Are you saying the Big 12 is better than the B1G and ACC because the Big 12 lost three games and barely beat an FCS team, no wins against a Power 5 team, and the other four wins the conference teams had were at home?

I really don't see how the OP can ascertain that the B1G, ACC, Big 12, and PAC 12 is worse than any other conference at this point.

Oregon 59 UVA 10

@ UVA

UCLA is getting an undeserved pass. In game 1 they looked bad.
