You could see it hit the beer sign behind the seats atop the green monster ... so it was fair. Don't understand why the home plate umpire wasn't in the conversation. He had the best look of them all.

It's a win ... but Cruz absolutely creamed that ... and then still had the presence to take a walk.

Just looked at the replay on MLB. The beer sign is way into foul territory from the first angle which I think is correct. The next replay the ball goes over the foul pole and what appears to be fair by 20 feet where the beer sign looks like it's in fair territory. I think the angle on that is shifted making the beer sign appear to be in fair territory.

Regardless, it only matters where the ball is when is passed over the foul pole, not where it lands. Hard to call that one.

Still don't understand the umps going to look at the replay and the home plate ump wasn't part of the group. Short of having an ump under the pole the home plate ump is the one with the best view.

From Joey Matches:

"Matt Harrison was about as bad as we've seen him all year yesterday (4.2 IP, 8 H, 5 R, 4 ER, 3 BB, 3 K, 1 HR), but his teammates picked him up by pushing their run total into the double digits, and the story that came out after the game was that Harrison pitched with a stomach virus, and required intravenous fluids after the game."

Well hopefully that explains this game, hopefully he gets better quick and continues his stellar season

Poor guy probably felt ridiculous pressure to go out there with the way this team had been struggling. Hopefully he gets over it soon.

Nelson Cruz Homerun was a Fair Ball. Watched it on TV. It was Inside the Foul Pole. Don't know what the Umps were Looking at. But Knew it wasn't going to be overturned. both Busby and Grieve said that on the Telecast. But the Replay to me was a Easy Call. Made it a Tougher Save for Nathan. But this could have really cost the Rangers.

Somehow I'm still shocked when Boston gets bullshit calls at Fenway.

Shocked?

It was a close call ... I thought it fair too. That was one of those plays that the initial call stands up because there isn't a good way to see irrefutable evidence to overturn it. Had the original call been a HR ... that would have stood up too.
