Sorry. That last series put a bad taste in my mouth. Better just move on. We play them 7 times up to the All-Star break. Better may hay.
Making hay requires being ahead in the 9th and knowing how to close. Not sure we're there yet but we better find out how to get there.Sorry. That last series put a bad taste in my mouth. Better just move on. We play them 7 times up to the All-Star break. Better may hay.
We'll be ahead. Twins don't have that trifecta of relievers the Yanks do. We SHOULD be fine in this series.Making hay requires being ahead in the 9th and knowing how to close. Not sure we're there yet but we better find out how to get there.

You have to make the pitches in every ball park. We did not do that.Much easier to close at target field against the Twins line up than against the Yankees in that little league ball park.
I mind all losses whether by one run or ten. However, blowing four run leads in the 9th is disturbing.I don't really mind the loss today. Pineda was on and we dropped a one run ballgame on the road. No biggie.
What does concern me is our previous two loses before today. In less than a week we blew two 4 run 9th inning leads. That's pretty hard to do when you are playing as well as the Rangers have since mid-May.
Obviously closing out ballgames is becoming an issue and I'm sure we are in the market for some bullpen help.
I'm really hoping for big things from Kela when he returns. Diekman and Dyson aren't getting swinging misses like earlier in the year and Barnette and Bush are having trouble throwing strikes period. Gotta get better.
I sure wanted to be there. Stayed on the phone all day trying to get info but it was futile.Sorry to hear about your internet today DT. Was wondering why we hadn't heard from you.
I can live with the type of loss we had today as you said. Those losses to Boston and NY with a 3 and 4 run lead is what bothers me.I don't really mind the loss today. Pineda was on and we dropped a one run ballgame on the road. No biggie.

Just a little on edge right now. I know normally splitting in New York is a good thing, but it's relative to your competition. I fear that the Astros smell blood in the water ( our pitching staff) and are charging hard before the break. Every win we get until then is paramount. If we go into the ASB with a lead of 5 games or less, we might have to hear the national media talk about the "Astros getting back into it" for a whole week while we can't do anything about it. The important thing is to beat up on the Twins and if we do, the Astros could only gain so much ground.
Got a chuckle out of that. It's tough to play at the rate we were playing at. And things happen. I mean the Cubs were swept by the Padres a few weeks ago. It's a long season.Jesus, dude. Do you sleep at night with all that anxiety?
Twins will sweep.
