Good game tonight. I thought you guys had the comeback win in the bag. Smoak likes hitting in Texas. About the only place where he does anything. Cliff Lee for Smoak, Beavan and a sex offender. What an awesome trade. :L

A trade which Texas won in the short-term and nobody won in the long haul. Smoak has turned out worse than even his harshest critics here expected I think. Don't forget about Mark Lowe though. He has just been a dazzling picture of consistency and health for us.

It was a blockbuster deal at the time but other than Lee winning the TB series for us, the deal turned out to be a dud for both teams.

Yeah, you're right it really wasn't a good trade for either team. But at least someone got something good out of it with Lee helping get you to the World Series. And also on the bright side the M's ended up getting Jesus Montero anyway. I've just become pretty cynical when it comes to anything Mariners. 7 last place finishes in 9 years kind of erodes your fandom.

But good luck to the Rangers in the playoffs. I've always kind of liked them for some odd reason. I hope this is the year you guys finally break though. And I hope to God the Angels miss the playoffs. That would be hilariously awesome.

Totally agree that Perez should be getting those starts. He's been impressive. And at some point numbers have to override veteraness.

Matt's pitching well. Seems his velocity is down a tick though. He's throwing 92-93 instead of 94-95.

If you take out that first performance by Perez, where he gave up 3 hits, 1 walk, 4 earned in getting 2 outs against Detroit, he has a 1.27 whip and 2.23 ERA in his 28.2 big league innings. Very solid.

Not gonna lie, Koji made me nervous on the first pitch in the dirt.

Koji has been light years better this season than he was in 2011. I agree with Romeo that he can definitely be trusted in the playoffs. Hopefully Ross comes back healthy and the Rangers ride the Ross-Uehara-Ogando-Adams-Nathan group heavily in the postseason and leave the other 2 to 3 guys for emergency relief only.

Uehara's innings are way down this year from last year. His splitter is diving out of the zone. When he doesn't have his stuff he's a batting practice pitcher, but I think that's become much more the exception than the rule. I feel great heading into October with Uehara, Ross, Scheppers, ogando, Adams, and Nathan handling the bullpen.

Good series Rangers fans!

Always a pleasure D. Would've liked to have gotten that win last night, but good series. Seattle has some good young players.
