Good job by Choo to cut that ball off.
What was Chi Chi's pitch count? I missed it.
At his current rate, Iwakuma can go through 8 with only 106 pitches or so.
Chi-Chi really bounced back after a tough 1st/2nd. And I swear, when Sam throws strikes, he's a pretty decent arm.
And then, of course, he immediately gives up a frigging double.
Already on a 40 man and used up 1 of his 3 option years (this year) says differently.
And yes, while they all rank him highly, they all say the same thing that I stated (cause guess where I got that?)... that his receiving skills need to get better.
I'll even copy/paste a few things from K.Law recently..
"The main dishes here are catcher Jorge Alfaro and right-hander Jake Thompson, with Alfaro ranking No. 49 in my last update and Thompson just missing the top 50. Alfaro, who is out until at least the Arizona Fall League due to a severe ankle injury, has an 80-grade arm and 80 raw power, but has shown very little improvement in his plate discipline over the past few years and has to be more willing to work the count to get to that power in games. He has the tools to be an above-average receiver and framer, but hasn't always put the required work into the task."
"Alfaro might be the one guy they put on the slow track, given all of the less obvious aspects to catching that he needs to work on, and his propensity to swing at every pitch thrown in his vicinity."
it must look like a beach ball to them all, cause they're all swinging at em
See, I can understand this against certain guys. But for a few games now we've not adjusted at all regardless if the guy throws 88 or 95.
But hey, Prince (he's one of the main culprits), is due a slump. Maybe it's time to give him a day off.
Does it seem our LH pitchers struggle with control against LH hitters?
I'd say Prince could maybe use a day off. Maybe let nap DH against a LHP.
Get your act together Patton.

At his worst Cliff's ERA with us was sitting at 4.70. That was after a bad run of games where Wash decided to use him every fifth day and not give him any off days and made the other starters work around Cliff. Before that happened Cliff only had the bad initial game with us. After that first start with us he rattled off 3 very good games and 4 out of 5 very good games. After the first 6 games with us Cliff's ERA was 2.63. That was definitely the numbers of an ace.
Then the effects of Wash abusing him took over. Even still his ERA was only 4.70 with us after his first 11 starts. Then he skipped a start and finished up the season with 3 of 4 starts being very good.
Cliff Lee definitely was the difference in us just making the postseason and making it to the WS.
Yep, Cherington is stepping down as GM, just 2 years removed from a World Series title. Dombrowski is generally regarded as one of the smartest traders around but subpar when it comes to signing free agents. Should be interesting to see how he fits in with Boston. Must be nice going from one franchise with bottomless pockets to another.EG says Dave Dombrowski will go to AL East to run the red sox Pres of baseball Ops, one less guy Rangers have to worry about going to Seattle if Mariners fire JZ
