Anyone else get the impression that moss was scared to get hit? Or was avoiding contact atleast? There was 2 plays I remember where moss caught the ball and went down before any contact was made. I don't blame the guy, he is getting older and may not want to risk injury especially so early but curious if anyone else saw that.

He was worse than normal IMO, lets see if this gets better throughout the year. It has been over a year since he was in a game.

I don't have a huge problem with it on the plays that I saw. In a crucial situation, you want him fighting for yards, either the first down or the TD. But when he makes a catch in the middle of the field, the odds of him taking one long at this stage in his career are slim. I'd just as soon he not risk the injury.

As long as he gets the first down or touchdown I don't care if he goes down to avoid a hit.

Rice used to do the same thing. So did Marvin Harrison. When they need to get the yards they fought for them. Look at Vick. The dude will spin and dive for a 3 yard gain on first down in the middle of the first quarter. Then he will promptly leave the game with a punctured lung.

It wasn't critical, so I didn't have a problem with it. I also don't think the coaching staff had a problem with it. It's a marathon season, and Moss will be needed (even if he is a decoy 90% of the time)...

Well one thing is I don't think he's accustomed to going over the middle like he did this game and like everyone else I don't really have much of a problem with it as long as he fights for the yards when needed.

When you're surrounded by 3 guys with really no chance for YAC why needlessly take a big shot.

Good win yesterday..
Moss will know where first down marker is, and go down after the reception when he's in traffic.
Smith needs to learn that when Moss is covered in man to man coverage, take some shots. 90% of the time Randy will come down with it.
They could have put the Pack away much earlier than they did.
But hey, a win is a win, and that was a great one.
Good luck the rest of the way.

Randy looked great, first game back in over a year and goes for 47 yards and a TD when Smith only had 200 yards passing.

I wasn't really against what he was doing honestly. I'm taking into consideration his age, perhaps his arm strength isn't strong/sturdy enough for big hits or some rips from defendors? As long as he makes the catch for a first, I'm good with him going down if there is no room for him to gain. If there's 2 guys homing in on him then yeah, hit the deck.

But I'm speaking as a fan, who knows what the coaches think. But for Moss only, if he makes the big catches, whether in stride or jump ball, I'm good with what he does next.

It's the Crabtrees, MMs, KWs, AJs, VDs, DWs(hold the effing ball!) that I would want to see going hard for those extra yards.

Yeah, I have no problem with him dropping like he did... Braylon was fighting like a crazy man for every inch last year, and it got him hurt.

Moss can't add anything if he gets hurt.
