I was cleaning a desk out today, won't give you a year, coach, player or anything because I had forgotten all about this until today. I would like to see who comes up with the answer. I have a hundred questions from Rams history and don't want to start a game really but to see if someone fines it. OK the question:

What Rams player tried to sell the Rams playbook to another team? Year, player and other team.:mad2:

:10::suds::nod: Exactly right TEB. Karl Sweetan was a QB (be it not so good one) for the Rams among others including the Canadian Football Toranto Argonauts in 1971. After his release from the Rams he decided to try and sell the 1971 Rams playbook to J.D. Roberts the head coach for the New Orleans Saints for $2,500. For it it cost Sweetan $5,000 and a short trip to the police station with his cousin. Nice job TEB.

Nothing he went right to the FBI and they did a snare on Sweetan. Funny all the coaches that said a playbook ain't worth anything unless you know when a play is being called. In fact it was funny, Billy Wilson from the 49ers of the day said he had a garage full of old playbooks from all over, "What's the going price $2,500?", "I think I will have a garage sell now. Two for $4,000."

Me too retro, was so foolish to think a coach would want a book in the first place. I head to Chicago this week for a 12 day stay for cancer treatment. I will have time to try to fool the experts here.
