A great video explaining how great the Rams run game is and how terrible Jarred Cook is. Really good watch

Jared Cook needs to go, he is obviously the weakest link on the team and the worst TE in the NFL. This guys is just a dumb SOB who can't block or catch when it matters the most. I just hate stupid players.

:loco2:How much more of this Jared Cook crap are we going to take?...........nice clip Jacob!
He was the reason we lost to Dallas last year as well.

Jared Cook needs to go and his salary as well. We could save a boatload of cash. The bigger issue however is he is yet another player that is one of Fisher's boyz that simply is not that good on a consistent basis. He routinely drops passes, does little when its his turn to block, and often does not like pass catching over the middle and its subsequent consequences. Like Britt, he isn't going anywhere as long as Fisher is around.

Ya, exactly what is Fisher NOT seeing with Cook!

Maybe it's because he can make all the catches and looks good in practice ala Sammy !

The thing thats frustrating about Cook is that he is targeted so much AND he is bad. The other guys that get his targets have about 10 yards a target. He is only pulling down 6 yards a target which is replacement level stuff even before factoring in that he can't block and he gave up on that route last week. Kendricks isn't doing any better but the guy can block.

I saw a statistic somewhere that said that the Rams were the most run oriented team in football based on what play they run 1st and 10 and in a close game. I suspect that if the most run oriented team is also the team getting the most QB hits then the proper thing to do is to throw more screen passes.

I kinda feel like the Rams wasted their healthy weeks going 2-3 instead of being 4-1. Now they have to deal with the normal Rams injury games.

Well, Clayton, when you run the I-formation in this NFL, you are definitely run-oriented. If that is what they want to do, then do it and do it well but they are not even doing that with any reliable consistency.

I never said that. Ole alligator arms Cook dropped an easy game winning pass!. If anything, Jarod Cook is probably the reason Austin Davis is gone!

There might be some truth to that zeke as both Davis AND Foles threw/throw a ball with some steam on it.

Here is the article that goes along with the vid jacobarch posted in the thread OP. Many now believe the Rams wasted $35 million on a guy that has no intention of being the best at his position. The article calls for Demoff and Snead to eat some serious crow and move on from this guy. If he is not careful, Kendricks will rapidly becoming the next Cook BTW.

I was watching Mizzou and Georgia play last night and both teams use a lot of the same concepts with the run. Georgia opened up a few holes and their guy wasn't fast enough or agile enough to do what Gurley is doing with the same type of holes. Its hard to say what will become of Gurley's career but offensively he is the best thing thats happened to the Rams in years. I know running backs are a dime a dozen but sometimes a few break the mold.

Sidenote: Brian Schoettenheimer is the OC for Georgia. He is godawful in college. So glad the Rams got rid of this bum. He was way outclassed in the NFL

Great breakdown. Makes me want to ship Cook even faster now.

What I found absolutely interesting and revealing is the commentator of the tutorial vid posted by jacobarch, at about the 9:30 mark began this dissertation about Cook single-handedly stopping an inordinate amount of offensive drives by dropping pass after pass and then assisting in getting Foles hammered by not blocking when he should have on numerous plays. This guy is a complete waste of $35 million and another stupid signing by this FO and Fisher.

To be honest, I liked the guy when we signed him. I think most of you did too. That said, I've been done with this cat for a long time now and it's obvious the only reason we've hung on to him this long is we are in to him $$$$ too much.

He is reportedly on the trading block, which likely means he's gone this offseason (unless they can find a sucker).

Yep, Vita. I believe you mentioned that you had your fill of Cook on several posts.

Zeke, I was being sarcastic! I've mentioned Cooks dropped TD in the Dallas game in the past, trying to defend Davis against those that thought he sucked. Davis could have easily had this team at 5-3 or 6-2 if the D would have shown up and Cook makes that catch! It never was all on Davis!
