That's cap space for top 51 plus the draft pool without re-setting the top 51. The draft pool will slot into that top 51, resulting in the bottom line number of $1.775M in cap space. The impact of the draft pool on the top 51 is only about $1M projected.

G Orlando Franklin cut by chargers to save approx. 3M in cap space. They drafted Lamp and Feeney.

He won't be on the market long.

The Rams should be on the phone with Franklin's agent ASAP!

Not so sure he's still the player you remember:

Fast forward two seasons later, and Franklin became a liability in pass blocking.

For what it's worth, Orlando Franklin allowed more QB hurries & QB hits than all but 4 guards last year, per @PFF.

Franklin was one of the top guards on the market in 2015. After playing at a high level and missing just one game in his four years with the Broncos, the 29-year-old had underwhelmed in his two years with the Chargers. He missed six games in 2015, and even though he started every game last season, he was beat up and played poorly, hence a 47.5 overall grade, the worst grade among Chargers’ linemen.

This one would be more interesting if the Rams could trade Austin. I think my local team (the Bills) should take a hard look at him however. He could be the slot guy they need to go along with Watkins and Zay Jones.

Man, some of our comments on Whit and Woods did not age well, myself included ( regarding Woods signing ).

Also, expect to see Desean Jackson in a Rams uniform. He was born and raised in LA and loves to play for McVay, Olson, and Lafleur and McVay wants him to come to LA.
You called it 5 years early

Back than we look forward to free agency, adding guys who we can think can help us, now free agency is pretty uneventful, seeing guys leave that want too much money or change of scenery.

Seriously, people are complaining about signing Whitworth, one of the very best at his position. Who cares if he is 35, show me where his play is declining. I didn't think so. Nobody declared him the future, just a great veteran who will whip these young lineman into shape by setting an example of how to be professional, how to last long in this league, and how to play at an elite level. Every position on the field need veteran leadership to go hand and hand iwith coaching. When Faulk came here, he came with baggage but the Faulk we know provided that veteran leadership calling teammates out as well as teaching them. Who in the hell could we have gotten that is better than Whitworth.

The Front office has one job every offseason, improve the team, even if that means, rented players, or short term answers.
LOL, I went on a rant.

too bad they couldn't get him back then. whould've saved the Rams the draft picks required to get Watkins and Cooks to try and fill that role Jackson would've done.

I don’t think Whit has been great nor do I think he’s been bad. I think his leadership has been great. Law of averages for a 35+ year old Olineman to maintain that kind of play is beyond normal. I hope it doesn’t finally come back to bite us.

However, we was out for much of 2020 and the backups did just as good as him.

Yep. The Woods signing and the Whitworth signing both have good and bad to them. They both contributed to that Snooperbowl Team in 2018 but it was primarily the Coaching staff that got us beat in that bowl because genius boy didn't recognize the D Belicheat was running and then he didn't make the necessary adjustments to the Jumbo at the half. And the rest is "HISTORY"!
