Leslie Brett
Wife of George Brett
“The reaction of the fans was kind of awesome because there were some pretty obnoxious ones that just were riding the players. And it felt like it was good karma for us. Look at the picture. It’s hilarious. All their hands are on their heads and they’re in disbelief. It was pretty funny from our perspective. So I got a kick out of it.”

Cried on the way home on the 7 train
“We were just terrified. Watching the game with hands over our eyes. The second he let go of the ball, you see him take off and you’re just like, Ohhhhhhhh nooooooooo! It was in slow motion, a really painful, really long slow motion.”

Had Mr. Met stop by his wedding
“I see him going, I’m screaming, ‘Throw it home! Throw it home!’ Screaming my head off. And Duda takes the throw, steps off the bag and the minute it leaves his hand, I know it’s destined for disaster. We had this. We should be celebrating and walking out and listening to ‘Back in the New York Groove,’ but instead it turned into a disaster.”

just getting there isnt enough for perpetual losers

Phil Griffin

President of MSNBC
“It’s visceral. It’s painful. It’s so hard to get here. And we just threw it away. And those of us right here, we had a front-row seat. To misery. That was the moment. I collapsed. How could this have happened? There are certain moments in your life you will never forget, and that was one of them. Because all that good, two and a half months of really incredible baseball that we just hadn’t seen with the Mets in decades, flew out. Went away.”

George Brett is never wrong

George Brett
Hall of Fame player and vice president of the Royals
“You look at the play now, Hosmer was stupid to go. Your mind just says, ‘You got to go, you got to go!’ And with Familia pitching, you might not have another opportunity. I was going, ‘No! No! No!’ As soon as we scored that run, I knew we were going to win. I just didn’t know in what inning.”

So Mets officials are whiny bitches? Shocking

Shock.
Anger. Agony. Pain. Behold the faces of Mets fans in this picture, taken by The Times’s Chang W. Lee as the Royals’ Eric Hosmer dived safely home to tie the score in the ninth inning of Game 5 of last year’s World Series. The Royals went on the win the championship. After Mets officials declined to help us identify anyone in the photo, we managed to track down 11 of them. With the Mets and Royals set to begin a new season when they play on Sunday, we asked those with the best view of the play to relive it.

Someone check Francis' account.

I think @Rock Strongo hacked it.
I was thinking the same thing. This thread seems eerily similar to one of those RockStrongo threads where he just plows through spitting out post after post, completely oblivious to the fact that outside of New England, most people don't think about Tom Brady and the Pats 24-7.
