Question about Sams

Since the media just focuses on his being gay.
I don't know a lot about his football game. Now if he is suppose to be a speed rusher yet I keep hearing he is to small for DE. Does he have the ability to play LB at all? (he could do blitzes from the LB spot or something?)

For us, if he makes the team it will be as a pass rushing specialist as a DE.

I don't really know much about it other than a discussion on the radio in which it was claimed that he is not fast enough to play LB and that his best hope is to develop into a situational pass rushing DE. Don't know how accurate that assessment is though.

From what I've seen, he's not great at anything, not fast or particularly big but he finds the QB. I agree with the notion of him being a specialist: I think he would get swallowed up (no pun intended) against most ok run blocking linemen. We need depth, he adds depth. I think he'll play this year.

Nothing i have seen from the guy leads me to believe he will ever make the 53 here. The media has to focus on the good he does as they will be called out when they show his flaws.

I just think with a couple more injuries, or lack of production mixed with (as you said) the media, and probably even some fans pressure - we'll see him. I wouldn't be surprised either way honestly. Anyways, I haven't seen this in stone but it looks like we're going to get our first good look out of the 7th rounder Bishop today with Edwards out and Melton uncertain. Can't expect much, but I'd like to get a peek.

Also, I haven't been as in tune as usual to the team - I'm wondering about Ahmad Dixon.. What's the scoop, if any?

The only way to find out about him is to activate him. Some guys just know how to get to the QB. He may or may not be able to play in the NFL.

I heard that Dixon was signed off of Minnesotas practice squad by the Bears. I thought it was a dumb move to cut Dixon
