Overall:

The biggest reason I am so pissed off is because I HATE "blame the refs guy". These fucking refs are FORCING me to be "blame the refs guy".

We had 3 defensive penalties called on us the whole game. Those 3 were in the second half and all 3 gave A&M an automatic first down.

Our defense played pretty and has not shown that they wear down in the second half of any game this year. A&M had 5 first downs in the first half and 14 in the second half. A&M had 103 yards in the first half and 207 in the second half.

As for our team, I usually don't like the game long bitchfest that Pelini has with refs on occasion but yesterday I did not have a problem with it. The one thing I didn't like was bringing back Martinez after re-injuring his ankle. Pelini said after the game, "The game was irrelevant... we still control our own destiny." Well if that is the case then Martinez needed to stay on the sideline and get healthy for the next games. I love Martinez but with him out there, and not counting the refs, we were playing 10 versus 11 out there when we were on offense. As much as I bashed Cody Green a couple weeks ago, I thought he played pretty well. He still had problems but he looked like a serviceable backup.

One last thing for the record. The head ref for the game last night was Greg Burks. He is in now way a relation of mine and even if he was he would be removed from the family IMMEDIATELY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not sure how many Nebraska games he has done this year but I know he did the Texas game and that had some issues in it as well.

We just didn't play well enough to win. Our offense is getting worse every game. Our O line is getting blown out of the water. After 3 years now we still don't have a solid QB? Good thing Carl is out there recruiting DB's for us or we might not have a QB at all.

Im not sure what else Watson can do to prove that he can't cut it as OC. Im going to throw our O line coach Cotton in the pile with him too. Our lineman should not be picked up and used as projectiles.

I was disappointed with Watson's playcalling.........I think with better playcalling we actually win that game even with the horrible officiating.

The wildcat seemed to be good for 4-5 yards every single time we ran it..............if I was the offensive coordinator that play would have been ran a lot more.

Bottom line is, when you can't do much on offense, you have to throw a wrinkle or two in there and try to catch the defense off guard. Run a trick play or somethin..........do somethin to get the defense on their heels a little bit. We never did that.......we just stuck to conservative playcalling the entire game, and we CONTINUED to run the zone-read even with Taylor's injured ankle.

The zone-read only works because the defense has to account for multiple options.........it is essentially an option offense. We had no fucking options......we could only hand it off to one of our RBs, and A&M is pretty decent against the run..........nothing like just telling a good rush defense exactly what we are going to do. We would have been just as good off walking up to the line of scrimmage and having Taylor tell the defense "hey guys, we're handing it off here to Helu."


With all that said, how do we really know what our offense accomplished last night??? They were penalized 1/3 of the amount of total yards they produced!!!! For every 10 yards we gained we went back 3.5 yards.

Another little tidbit that I found interesting...............Texas A&M is the most penalized team in the Big 12 averaging 9 penalties per conference game, the bulk of those coming in the form of HOLDING penalties
