Andy Dalton is Jon Kitna 2.0 all day long......We will never win a Super Bowl with Andy and he is another average QB...... I think of Kitna and Sanchez.....

Jay Gruden is the most over rated OC in the NFL....recognized on name only.... I want Hue to get a shot....I would also open up the QB comp and replace Bruce with a better back up and push Andy.....

Matt Flynn would do better with a west coast than Andy would in my opinion....especially with down field throws....

Flynn is basically the same player as Dalton..... Smart player, generally good decision making, and a weak arm. The reason he wasn't drafted higher is that nobody thought he could make consistent deep passes.

Seattle isn't going to trade Flynn. To important to have a good backup now days. Dalton couldn't survive in Hue's scheme.

The Bengals hid this well during the regular season. He faced pressure on only 25.7% of plays — fourth-lowest of 38 qualifying quarterbacks — within an offense that saw him get rid of the ball in 2.5 seconds or under on 60.8% of drop-backs (only Matt Hasselbeck and Chad Henne had a higher percentage). Yet in the playoffs you can’t hide flaws so easily, and with the Texans aggressive defense came pressure on 40% of drop-backs.

Gruden is hardly overrated. Given everything he's had to work with, he's done a tremendous job. That stat above is very telling. I think Gruden recognized early that he had to get the ball out of Dalton's hands sooner rather than later and designed/limited his offense as such. Another coordinator may not be as able or willing.

I thought Hue did a tremendous job in Oakland and will make a great coordinator, but watching those games with Carson, the ball is not going to come out in 2.5 seconds or less that often. It's a vertical offense and Andy is probably best suited for a short-intermediate style WCO.

Maybe he tweaks it with more short routes and take shots downfield with a better run game....Also want Alexander gone....

I wonder though, if we would have ruined the careers of any of those guys.
