Here's my thoughts on who was selected:

1) Despite being my favorite LB on the Seahawks (and my favorite Seahawks defensive player) I think that Bobby Wagner may be the least worthy of the 3 starting LBs for a pro bowl this year.

2) Though a late bloomer statistics wise, Doug Baldwin deserves more than an alternate nod.

3) As much as I love Tyler Lockett, he doesn't deserve this honor this year. Ameer Abdullah and Corderelle Patterson have both been much better returners all year long.

4) I'm not sure any of our DBs should have the honor. They played poorly for chunks of this season and have had massive holes in their assignments. I haven't been able to watch a lot of the league this year - so I may be just comparing them to their performances the last 2 years instead of to the league this year and they are actually fully deserving.

5) I know Marshawn should not be given a alternate spot - even before he went out he wasn't having a pro bowl caliber season- I wouldn't have had an issue if Thomas Rawls was there, but not Marshawn.

6) Hard to give a kicker who has missed 3 PATs an alternate spot, but there have been a lot of missed PATs this year - so I guess it isn't that bad.

Stoke,

I'm with you on most of them although I think Lockett got in because of his overall play and not just his ST play. And I think that Sherman most definitely deserves it. With you on Kam and Earl though.

I don't know about Lockett. Love the kids potential, but he hasn't been at pro bowl level for any of his roles on the field, let alone the role as a KR, which is what he was sent to the pro bowl for. He's been impressive, just not a Pro Bowler. If they made him the KR because he's had a decent year as a WR that's just wrong, but this is what happens with fan votes (though there really isn't a better solution).

(KR - PR - Rush - Receive)
Lockett - 29/746/25.7/1 - 34/220/6.5/1 - 3/13/4.3/0 - 46/595/12.9/6
Abdullah - 31/944/30.5/0 - 0/0/0.0/0 - 125/514/4.1/2 - 20/167/8.0/1
Patterson - 30/933/31.1/2 - 0/0/0.0/0 - 2/15/7.5/0 - 2/10/5.0/0

Stoke I'm with ya on the Secondary and Lynch, however I feel that the more Name power you have the more chance you have to be voted to this. If you play average through out the year but Most of the NFL faithful know your name. They will vote for you for the Pro Bowl

Isn't the Pro Bowl balloting part fan vote, part coach vote and part player vote? If the players and coaches factor into the voting, it might help explain why certain players made it and why others didn't. Players and coaches look for and see different things than most fans do. They tend to look at a lot more film than the average fan, for instance. Fans usually only pay attention to their team and use stats/familiarity to fill in the rest. That doesn't apply to every fan, of course, but I think it applies to the average fan across the league.

Meh. I don't think voters put much thought into it. Lockett is doing both KR and PRs. And he has the name recognition because of the 6 receiving TDs.

Bolded is who I'd send to the pro bowl if it were up to me.

Sherm is having a great year and definitely belongs. Same with Bennett.

RW is playing as well as anyone in the world right now and deserves it.

I bet Baldwin makes it as an alt.

Bummer not to see KJ Wright there. He's had a great year. Wagner not playing as well as in years past, but someone's gotta get credit for our top caliber run D.

I don't see how anyone can say Sherm doesn't deserve it.

Statistically he isn't having a great year because they simply don't throw towards him much.

Is Wagner having an off year? I don't really see it.

Not a bad year, but to me not quite as good as he has been. I look at Kam and ET about the same way. Neither of those two are having bad years, but the consensus seems to be they aren't playing as well as we've become accustomed to seeing from them.

I hope we have the same amount of Seahawks playing in the Pro-Bowl as we have had the past two seasons.....

I don't think that not being nearly as good as the year before necessarily precludes a guy from getting into the Pro Bowl. I still count it as impressive when a player has a "down" year by his standards and still plays well enough relative to the rest of the guys at his position to get voted into that league's all-star game.

I don't really worry about Pro Bowl honors or any individual player honor. Mostly just a name contest anyways and at contract time means more $ for the player. Usually the honors come late, need the voters to become aware of the player and the voters are usually a year or so behind the actual play of a player.

All deserving but I feel Kam and Earl got in my name recognition... Seems like we haven't even mentioned Earl's name this year... He's having a solid season but not at a Pro bowl level imo... He misses too many tackles for my liking...

Baldwin came on a little too late so I don't have any problems w/ his selections... Although Calvin Johnson got in my name recognition, not sure if Baldwin is the better receiver... Baldwin has been playing at a pro bowl level the past 5 weeks or so but where was he the 1st 8 games?

RW basically being the only guy making it on offense is a testimony in itself... RW has always gotten the "he has Lynch and is saved by his running game" but it seems like Cam Newton has always gotten the label of not having much talent around him, yet the Panthers are sending 10 to the Pro bowl... 6 of the Panthers 10 selections are on the offensive side of the ball... So yeah, Cam does have talent around him... He also has a great OL...

KJ Wright and Avril had great seasons but when you line them up against who got into the pro bowl at their positions, I don't have a problem with the other guys getting in over them... On the Hawks defense though, I'd say they were #3 and #4 on our defense this year in terms of play and productivity with Sherman/Bennett #1/#2...

Between Kam's holdout, his crappy play the first couple of games he was back, and now his injury there is no way he deserves to be in.

when they start voting for players because of production and not popularity let me know. It's always been this way and wont ever change till they remove voting completely and just go off stats.
