I'm against trading for him all together now. I just don't think the M's are going to win within his 2 year window. Maybe I'd revisit it if Choo, Cruz or Hart sign.

I like the idea of signing Garza. He would fit well into the rotation, although I still think we should add 2 total starters.

Completely forgot he was a free agent. Hey I don't think it would be a terrible idea. I have to imagine nobody is willing to give him more than a 1 year contract. Could be another low risk high reward pickup for the Mariners. If the Mariners are unable to land Jimenez, Garza, (Ervin) Santana, Tanaka or some other option I think Santana may be a decent idea. The Mariners have had some luck with picking up pitchers on 1 year deals.

By some luck I am referring to guys like Iwakuma, Kevin Millwood, Erik Bedard etc. Not guys like Aaron Harang or Joe Saunders.

Man it is easy to forget that from 2002-2010 Johan Santana was one of the most dominant pitchers in baseball. Yet since then he has just sort of fallen off the face of the Earth.
