It doesn't matter. We now have the worst jerseys and logo in the NHL. We will lose our first 42.

So, the Preds have signed four players prior to the grievance hearing tomorrow...Why bother having the hearing? Only NHL regular not signed was Sergei Kostitsyn.

Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced today that the club has signed forwards Matt Halischuk and Nick Spaling to two-year contracts, and forwards Chris Mueller and Cal O’Reilly to one-year deals.

Halischuk’s contract is worth $1.425 million, paying him $600,000 in 2011-12 and $825,000 in 2012-13 while Spaling’s contract is worth $2.1 million, paying him $1 million in 2011-12 and $1.1 million in 2012-13. O’Reilly’s contract will see him earn $1.05 million in 2011-12 and Mueller’s two-way contract will see him paid $550,000 at the NHL level and $65,000 at the AHL level.

Edit: If the arbitrator rules in favour of the NHLPA, the players involved will all become UFA's.

even though they are signed they can still be UFA if the arb rules in favour of nhlpa wow interesting. i figure the signing would nullify thatl.

I think 29 teams would have interest in both Spaling and Halischuk...

Tits signs a deal with the Preds this morning...Tim Wharmsby (CBC Sports) tweet:

Sergei Kostitsyn will avoid salary arbitration with Nashville. The two sides have closed in on a one-year, $2.5-million deal.

Now we await the grievance hearing to see if these signings will hold up...

I liked Halischuk during his short stint with the Devils. He won't be an all-star but will be a nice 2nd/3rd line winger.
