Prediction Friday....On Tuesday?.....You better believe it!!

Short week so like real life we adjust Prediction Friday to the schedule change. This week we go to NY to face the giants ( hating on Mara) a team that in previous seasons have found Washington as just the cure that ails them. The question remains, is that still so? Kirk Cousins gets his first real test of the year because the Giants will put nine up and force him to beat them then blitz him when he drops back. This is going to be a tough game for our guys, but I'm picking them to pull it out in a squeaker......17-16. Player of the game will be Ryan Grant and notable play will come in the form of getting at least 2 turnovers.

Sadly, I think the short week will really hurt our running game and we will lose 27-17. Player of the game will be Odell Beckham and play of the game will be a punt return TD by the NYG.

Giants should be without: DRC, Flowers, Cruz, and Beason. If we cant beat them now, then when are we going to beat them? 28-13 Skins. KC throws 3Tds. Notable play would be Kerrigan 2 sacks and FF.

BTW: I predicted Skins 24 and Rams 14 last weak. I was close.

This is a tough one. The Giants are wounded and reeling. Do they come at the skins like a cornered animal or are they about to fall apart? Just don't know. But since I have to make a pick and since I'm also feeling something about this team I haven't seen in years, I'm going with a big Redskins win. Redskins 27 giants 10. I also sense the defense is real close to blowing someone out. So I see DHall with a pick 6 as the play of the game. Overall, the defense has 3 turnovers to seal the deal.

we have had a totally different team for 20 years dean . prove it it the field before i give the benefit of the doubt . the giants manhandled us in DC 45-14 . the skins suck on national TV so until i see them do it on the field (and i want them to ) i see us getting routed based on swelled heads and reading our own press clippings

Giants battle back late n 4th to tie the game up and look to have ol' Mo on their side especially when they win the OT coin toss. After a couple 1st downs and Skins fans having that sinking feeling in their stomach. Kerrigan crushes Eli on a NYG pass play causing a fumble which the Skins recover. Skins fail to move the ball, but Hopkins drills a 54 yd FG straight down the middle for the game winner.

Well, in the last 2 weeks we have done the following:
1. Given up 27 points [14 per game]
2. Scored 34 points [17 per game]

I think something will change this week as the defense finally creates turnovers allowing the offense more opportunities to score.

Redskins - 31
Giants - 20

Cousins will not throw 4 picks as he did last year however, he will throw 1 that leads to points for N.Y. The ground game will continue to thrive all though MOJO won't duplicate last weeks effort but will score 1TD a piece. Cousins will throw 2 TD's (Garcon & Crowder) and throw in a FG for good measure. The defense plays the run fairly well not allowing over 100 yards and the secondary gives up a few big plays to OBJ & Co.

This will be a very difficult test Thursday night. IMO this game will show us where we are as a football team, and what we should expect going forward this season if we don't suffer significant injuries to key personnel.

The Giants have a HOF coach, solid NFL QB with talent around him on both sides of the ball, and a history of winning these types of games…and the Giants cannot afford to go 0-3 to start the season. I expect the GMen to play like its a playoff game.

So who wins? My gut tells me the Giants by 6 or 7 points with a respectable showing by the Skins. But if the Redskins can win the trenches battle like they did for most of the game against the Dolphins and pretty much all game last week, then I think we win by 3 or 4.
