Imagine yourself preparing your resume' and not completing it three fourths of the way through it. This is the dilemma that NFL players face annually in their quest to put the finishing touches on video resumes'. It is an especially tough position to be in because of the expected changes your team will make after a playoff disqualifying season. It doesn't help that injuries, as is often the case for these players, hinder their efforts.

Trent Williams, Deangelo Hall and Jason Reed are the most prominent names hoping to put impressive final notes on tape. For Hall, I don't believe that there's much left to prove as he nears the end of his career. Reed and Williams, on the other hand, with something to play for, never the less, want to assure their bosses that they aren't to be counted as injury prone and thus a liability.

There was some talk on this site regarding "tanking" for sake of an improved position in the next draft. I personally don't think that to be a very good idea, and an almost impossible thing to do, because unlike the views of casual fans and outside observers who generally look at season's records in totality, players and coaches are usually focused on the next game up, and what comes from that effort, alone.

Some years ago, Herm Edwards, then coach of the NY Jets famously stated..."You play to win the game!" For competitors on every level, this is what drives them, winning the game, specifically, the next one up. For our guys, the next one up begins with a 4:05pm EST kickoff in Los Angeles against the Chargers.

As Usual we ask:

For your predictions related to:
1. Who wins this game?
2. Final score
3. Player(s) of the game
4. Memorial moment, event or play, that will have them buzzing at the water cooler on Monday morning.

Chargers = Everything to play for. playoff hopes, division hopes, SB hopes.
Redskins = Pride.

Sorry, but pride gets buried underneath.

Redskins will run run run.... I believe they will try and keep KC out of a career ending pummeling as they cling to the very thin thread that he somehow's remains with Redskins. Not that they believe he's Sammy Baugh reborn but a very viable QB when with a healthy team around him can compete at a high level.

However,,, I'm probably wrong with this theory and they pass 50 times.

Still...

Chargers 45- 20
player of game- Rivers throws for 450 yards
play of game- Josh Norman returns a late 4th quarter INT for a TD and the whole team gathers in the end zone and does the happy dance... including Gruden
Memorable moment- I turn the mower and blower off and smile at my free of leafs lawn and do a happy dance of my own knowing that I didn't waste my day with Skins.

Oh wait,,, kick off at 420p.. shit be getting dark by then,,, guess I will waste some time with these lovable losers.

56 -10 chargers as gruden puts colt mccoy in under orders from allen

colt will throw a pick off his back foot to an open crowder who has it go through his hands and its returned for a TD

dean will insist that a pro qb has to make that attempt to an open wr and will blame crowder for the pick

KC will come in and make the same choice with the same result and dean will say it was a dumb choice and he should have taken the sacks

Beyond the injuries and incredible bad luck, this team set a pattern that at times puzzled me. Games in which they were expected to win they either didn't or played down to their opponents instead of playing their game. On the other hand, there were games that they weren't expected to win in which they did or gave an outstanding effort in a close loss. On Sunday, they face a team that by nearly all accounts shouldn't be close.

For this reason, I think we get this one.....24-21

POG...Nick Rose and his clutch game winning FG (somewhere between 45 and 56 yarder)

Water cooler talk........what else?? Kirk Cousins

As this franchise has done consistently over the last few years, their performance always befuddles me. Consequently, in a game that we should lose, I predict a 28-24 win over the Chargers. While the defense plays well against a top notch QB, taking the ball away 3 times (1 fumble and 2 INTs), the water cooler talk will be the almost mystical smoke haze that permeates the stadium from the wild fires. KC will have his typical stats game, 2 TDs, 275 yds, no INTs. The other surprise water cooler talk will be the play of Marshall as the 3rd down back, with 5 receptions for 70 yds, including a 45 yd TD romp. He also will add 40 yds in rushing.
