I know that the title might be a bit confusing for some so here's my explanation.
Notoriously slow starters under J. Gruden this team has yet to win a opening day game. In a one size fits all type of mindset, Gruden like the majority of NFL teams, doesn't play his starters during the preseason, but what if teams, because they are comprised of people, also don't all fit into the one size fits all model? I believe that some teams with little live action during the preseason are able to come out on opening day firing on all cylinders, while other need that full preseason contact to get themselves accustomed to and prepared for regular season contact.
Ask yourself, wouldn't it have been beneficial to this team to discover some of their issues early on and work on them prior to going into the regular season? Discovering them now, means that the adjustments come at the cost of two in season losses.
I know that there are injury concerns and it's also possible that a tough training camp and live meaningless action on bodies that have been resting during the off season, would result in fewer injuries.
The way I see it, this is our 3rd game and although it has cost two divisional losses, this team is now fully exercised, as they should have been in camp, and will, on Monday night show it.
Final score, Washington 27, Chicago 13
Players of the game, Case Keenum (youngsters on defense setup as well... Moreland, Sweat, Collins and McKinsy all shine)
Water cooler talk... Kirk and Case, is it the system or was it them?
We ask for your predictions related to:
1. Who wins this game?
2. Final score?
3. Player(s) of the game?
4. Memorial moment, event or play, that will have everyone talking on Monday morning?
