No surprise at all to me that the Skins and our fans could care less about celebrations in the end zone. We have seen many of our own celebrating and loved it.

My favorite TD celebration was the one used by John "The Diesel" Riggins. He tossed the ball to the ref and his comment was "act like you have been there before."

My all time favorite answer to trash talking was a Cardinal player who jumped up and started celebrating an offensive play. Monte Coleman put his are around the guys shoulders, turned him toward the scoreboard and pointed at the score. Of course the Redskins were winning.

Some blog posts from Panthers fans that I found interesting

The Panthers are pretty complex on both sides
The defensive scheme is base 4-3 like you mentioned, but a lot of nickel packages are used. McDermott is not as aggressive with blitzes as his mentor Jim Johnson of the Eagles was, but he will bring pressure from time to time (mostly from the A gap and zone blitzes). The Panthers mix up man and zone pretty well but rarely have a Cover 0 look, so someone is almost always deep.

The offense looks bland but is actually one of the more complicated run games in the NFL. It’s an Erhardt-Perkins style with some Air Coryell and Zone Read mixed in. Mike Shula has called some great games this season on offense and has shown a lot of trust in Cam Newton. Cam goes up to the line with 3 different play calls and can audible to whichever play looks most promising based on the defensive alignment. The run game uses a lot of misdirection and lineman in space as well.

on that note - One of the concepts you may see is a nohuddle/but not hurry-up offense
The Panthers will often call in 2-3 plays to Cam, but he won’t huddle. He will have everyone go to the line, and then based on the defense he sees, he will pick the one he wants. He may put someone in motion to check man/zone, change blocking assignments, shift a TE into the backfield as a blocker. It all takes time, so they skip the huddle. That doesn’t mean they will NEVER huddle, but wanted to point out it is different than the Eagle’s hurry-up.

Another thing on offense. Lately, Cam hasn’t been calling many short passes. If he thinks that long play is there, that is what he will switch to, but it seems like he’d rather call a run than a bubble screen, That is part of why his completion % is so low, but the YPC is so high.

A peek from the Panthers View point. Interesting tidbit, I didn't realize that Moses was such a fan favorite for them as a draft pick last year.

This one is also pretty funny. Don't get me wrong - I don't like to see players get hurt. However -this clown was always celebrating in this manner & deserved to be humbled. Look at this case - he is celebrating a freaking FG in the 1st QTR - huh?

Neither do I, but my sympathies are greatly mitigated when a player hurts himself. Particularly on what's a pretty routine play....................like a FG kicker making a FG in the 1st quarter

Watching what these guys go through you hate to see any of them get hurt. (maybe it's okay if they are Cowboys :rolleyes2:) but you couldn't help but say "you dumb ass" when that happened in the picture above.

I gotta admit I was wrong on Cam. Coming out I thought he would bust. Then the last 2 years he wasn't that good but nobody seemed to notice. But when you watch him play it's clear that he can't be measured by stats. So I was wrong on Cam and obviously I was wrong on Griff. Maybe I should give up evaluating black QBs.

Good point on Cam. I have CSN Washington on and they just put up QB stats without a identifying one being Cousins and the other being Newton. Cousins are slightly better in most areas and they are very close. You just can't use stats only as an indicator. I should say they didn't use rushing stats which Newton dominates Cousin's.

Daulton and Newton prove you don't need Tom Brady or Aaron Rogers to have a good team. Teams like Carolina and Cincinnati are where the Redskins are trying to get too. I think with SM's help that can happen.

Feels like something's off with Ross. Bad week of practice perhaps? Maybe they haven't liked his returns but Roberts has never shown much in that spot. Maybe they want Roberts over Ross active because of his blocking game, same as they did for the Pats.

Anybody looking at the statistics to see how good Cam has been is looking in the wrong place. His best WR is Ted Ginn. Seriously people...between them and the Rams, they have 2 people at the WR position that should even be on NFL team and none should be starting.

I have bashed Cam since he was drafted because of his collegiate antics. He has been very good though and not the head case I expected. Maybe somebody that came out of college as a headcase actually saw a "shrink."

Yep, perfect example of stats requiring context. Cam's a beast.

Funny things about celebrations...against Carolina last week, the defensive player that got upset about Cam's TD celebration, did a dance after a sack. Pretty sure a TD IS worth 6 but a sack is worth 2...oops, that is fantasy football.

Worst response to people who get mad because you celebrate...if you don't like it, stop me. You say that to me and I will knee cap you.

Amazing how scrawny DJax looks...hard to believe he could play in the NFL just looking at him

Yeah, Darrell Green was like that too.

I see it in DII football 300+ pound guys walking next to little skill players.
