Hey guys, played in a ton of leagues but I've never played in a PPR league. This one is 1pt per reception, bonus for length of TD (with all being worth 6 unless it's 40+ yards) and yardage is standard. Anyway, been doing some bullshit mocks from various spots and I can't seem to get the non PPR running back picker tendancies out of my system. So if you go RB heavy are you pretty much done? I'm sure the guys in this league are gonna be picking WR's early leaving some tasty value at RB but can you win a league like that by going say, Lacey/Murray or do you really need one of those 2 picks to be a WR?

You fell victim to one of the classic blunders.

You can still go heavy on the RB, so long as they're pass-catchers. McCoy, Forte, Charles.

The guy who won our PPR league had Lacy and a couple of shlubs. He also had Josh Gordon, A.J. Green & Julius Thomas.

No you can i play in this kind of league.......mccoy, charles, pierre thomas, bush, sproles hold more value heck even woodhead, ray rice, joquie bell

guys like cecil shorts, antonio brown, welker, garcon, andre johnson, brandon marshall, kendall wright hold a lil more value......because of the volume they catch.......

you can find some nice fill ins.....

guys that catch 5 balls for 15 yards gets you 6 points.........
guy that catches 2 balls for 49 yars gets you 6 points.......

my prime example is harry douglas, he was a PPR stud for me last year

Sam i believe finding the pass catching backs is the key to the game

and adding a Garcon Antonio Brown type later is also important

Sammy, you can draft whatever Rb's you want, sure it's a bonus if they are pass catchers, but just like regular fantasy, you can win with virtually any team build, the key is getting the right guys in the middle to make up for any deficiencies at the top. If your top 2 backs aren't necessarily "pass catchers" make sure you grab a couple of the aforementioned "volume" guys. The Edleman's, Welker's, and Kendall Wright's, probably Decker in NY this year..a real sneaky "volume-type" guy I like in PPR is Cole Beasley.

Obviously the DT's and Brandon Marshall's of the world would be ideal, but hey you can't have it all.

Something like this?????
1.9Eddie Lacy, GB
2.2DeMarco Murray, Dal
3.9Randall Cobb, GB
4.2Michael Crabtree, SF
5.9Rob Gronkowski, NE
6.2Toby Gerhart, Jac
7.9Percy Harvin, Sea
8.2Frank Gore, SF
9.9Mike Wallace, Mia
10.2Marques Colston, NO
11.9Colin Kaepernick, SF
12.2Cecil Shorts, Jac
13.9Christine Michael, Sea
14.2Cincinnati Bengals, Cin
15.9Blair Walsh, Min

I think Cobb, Crabby and Gerhart will catch a few..............along with Gronk (till he gets hurt)

Yeah me too but seemed cheap and like Gronk, he'll be good until his head/leg/arm falls off.............and Crabby should see one hell of a lot of targets from a (hopefully) improved Kaps..........don't think I love Wallace or Colston but at that point they were BPA

Colston isn't a bad choice as a 3-4th in a PPR..dude might not get yards or TD's, but he's usually good for 75-80 catches. Definitely not sexy, but decent enough

And murray should be a better than average PPR back this year .

My only issue with that team is the amount of injury red flags..Murray, Gronk, harvin, even Crabby and Cobb could be viewed as "injury risks"
