Curious what the board thinks, how come only baseball doesn't have the teams shake hands after the game?

Football, basketball, hockey, soccer, they all do it. Some make sure the coaches do too.

I figure because you play multiple games in the series. OK, then why not after the last game of the series?

We did it in little league too, why don't the pros?

Umm no. Hockey doesn't do it. Only at the end of a playoff series. And basketball doesn't do it either. Sometimes players will but there is no protocol. A guy will miss a game winner and head to the locker room immediate.

Only 1 game a week football has full blown handshakes. I don't watch soccer.

I only stand corrected on hockey, because in basketball almost everyone does it and the coaches always shake hands. Maybe one dude will pout and leave.

Yeah that's different too. I guess that's just how it started, just curious how different the sports are.

Nah not in the NBA. College yes.

In the NBA guys many times just shake their buddies hands post game. Before the tip off everyone shakes hands though(or fist bumps)

They don't actually go through a line like in college and shake everyone's hand

This.

My guess is it's partly because the season is so long and you'll likely play a team in multiple series. It would be redundant to do it after the conclusion of every series and you might face that team again in the playoffs.

Plus, baseball is real suspicious of players fraternizing with each other. Can't have them colluding, er sumthin
