I believe Mack's contract is good until 2020 so I don't think it's in his best interest to resign. Mack reduced his buyout, I believe it was last year. He doesn't need money. His wife is a millionaire in her own right.

Mac deserves better than a mid-season firing. I think the Longhorns just notch this season up as a total loss, don't go bowling and push Brown into either retiring or being fired.

I would really like to see Gruden return to coaching, and imo Texas is one of the few places he might consider. Would be a great hire. Can't go wrong with Tomlin or Cowher either.

Getting fired mid season is something you do to guys like Kiffin. Mack has been good for Texas it's just time to move on. You don't throw someone llike Mack Brown under the bus.

I suspect they will ask him to retire at seasons end, but if he doesn't they will send him packing.
