OK, I am game.

Put Martinez in for the first quarter to knock off some rust. Then put in TAJr and RKIII in the usual rotation.

See just which QB the team responds to the best. And the QBs had better be finding Kenny Bell more often.

Cross our fingers that there will be no major injuries.

Just don't bring Taylor back too early.....for the love of God....

You must be 100% certain that turf toe is healed before testing that shit out again. That will set Taylor back another month if he comes back too soon. I'd like to have him for the Northwestern, Michigan, Michigan State stretch

I'm all for giving the guy back the starting job, he's earned it, but yeah it's not a dire need for the sota game, his overall game isn't going to get any better than it is right now so the reps the other guys would get would benefit the team more than bringing pedro back in just for the sake of it. Like jjm say give him a qtr to knock the rust off and get him ready full speed for the tougher schedule

Here the thing

Who ever you want starting the NW game needs to play and take majority of the snaps
Wether that tmart TA or rk3 they need to play majority of the game to get ready for NW

If they want tmart then they need to test that toe and call some qb draws and qb keepers to see if he is truly back and healthy. DO NOT RUSH HIM BACK

If TA you need to call a smart simple game plan let me him make plays and find playmakers. Don't go pass happy be smart

If rk3 no zone read teams know he isn't a runner use more play actions bc he is mobile enough and has a good arm

I already know tmart will be the starter and start NW but the coaches better be smart and not rush him or not be afraid to pull him. We have backs up capable of winning games ESP at home. If tmart struggles pull him bc our strength is offense not defense can't afford to mess around

What I don't wanna see is all three qbs used against minny unless were up 30-40. Used the two your gonna use for NW.

blkflag pretty much took the words out of my mouth. If T-mart is ready he needs to play until we are up handly. he's got to run on that foot in game action and if he's going to go down, I'd rather have him go down against MN so TA/RK3 have an entire week to prepare for NW.

Injured or not, Taylor is easy to defend. With his limited QB aptitude and athleticism, any good rushing defense can take a healthy Taylor out of a game and force mistakes. Looking at the Nov games there are 4 teams that meet that criteria. Mich St, Mich, Penn St, and Iowa.

Not a surprise at all... I think everyone knew the target game would be Minnesota. No way you wanted Martinez to make his first start since UCLA against Northwestern.

I actually want to see tmart play if he's healthy vs minny bc if he struggles then we have to go to the back up plan of tommy-Kellogg qb combo. That would also make NW have to prepare for three qbs which is annoying bc your wasting time on game planning and other areas of the game that your practice game week wise.

If they were smart they use this week for the back ups and use tmart next week for the actual game week prep that way all three are ready and got a good week in. Let tmart start and see where he's at the staff needs to test him so don't hand the ball to AA 50 times and say tmart healthy good zone read qb draw or counters

We could experiment all day and not lose the game to minny we should have enough talent to use it as spring game and test /try things out

This is why TA missed his chance to make it a serious qb Debate
If he had a good day at Purdue the talk would be whose the qb starting against NW. Now were just hoping the staff isn't rushing tmart too soon but like you said it isn't hard to defend tmart

Msu will be ready they were embarrassed by him

We gotta have respectable passing game some how some way bc teams will simply loade the box back up and AA will not be getting the holes he's been having so far the past couple of games

NW will be a coin flip shoot-out. The other 4 will be trench dogfights and see who makes the most mistakes to give each other the short field.

Fast starts Neb is 40-4 when leading at the half

When Neb jumps out and set the tempo we usually win the game and the pressure goes to the opponent

Fast starts!!!

Let's be honest here, if TM is healthy he's starting and whether not he plays well he'll more than likely be playing the entire game no matter what, unless we're up by 30 TA and RK3 go back to spectators. After mini, the backups have very little chance of playing the rest of the year

Well they need to be honest with their assessments about his game play after minny. Don't say rust or anything and then we go pull a ucla vs NW bc that a recipe to open the qb thing from a debate to controversy

If tmart doesn't play well then go back to qb combo and play smart and eek the win out since it's at home. Can't be rolling the dice against mich at home.

What really pisses me off is that we now know we had 2 other QB's that could have been given a chance against ucla but we stuck it out with Taylor who was obviously injured and completely ineffective. I see no reason why that wouldn't happen again in the near future, I'll hide and watch

eh, i can kinda understand Bo's decision there. two completely untested QBs or a starter with a ton of experience that's less than 100%. I guess it kinda depends on what that % actually was. If T-mart was 80%, I could see that being better than an untested QB (which it clearly was for 1 quater), but if it was less then that or got worse as the game went on, then yea I agree we should have just took a chance on TA or RK3.

I think now that we have backups with some game experience he will feel more confident in giving Taylor the hook if he's not 100%.
