Offering condolences to Weaver and his family ... but had he not been short rested against TEX then he would have been in line to start on 29 Aug @ SEA which LAA lost.

If he had not been short rested ... he would not have been scheduled to start tonight ... but tomorrow against Duensing and then to open the NYY series on 9 Sep.

As it is with him being scratched tonight instead of being on a schedule that had him pitching tomorrow night ... instead Weaver is next slated to pitch in the last game of their next SEA series ... and will totally miss the NYY series.

The loss to SEA on 29 Aug, the missed start tomorrow, and missing the NYY series are all due to being short rested to pitch against TEX.

Yeah, I thought about that after I posted. Had he not started here on short rest, then one day now wouldn't make him miss a start. Eh, we beat him anyways, took wind out of their sails (threw their best and we beat him), and tired him out just a bit more. Plus, that couldn't have helped his CY bid.

the main thing is that the last time he had to skip a start because of his suspension he came out and was terrible for a couple of starts
