So long as MB has the HC title there will be no comment from the school or Brown on his status. If you look at most of the online journalists from Texas and the blogs, I do believe it's a foregone conclusion that he will resign. It's just a matter of when not if IMO.

just heard Texas is having a BIG meeting thursday dealing with there pres and Brown says he wont step down until things are smoothed out

I don't understand why anything would be considered bad news to Husker fans regarding Mack Brown.....

He could offer to pay us 1 million a year out of his own pocket to come coach here and we wiuld probably pay him 5 million to take a hike.

Don't be too sure about the school paying him anything to take a hike. Browns biggest drawback is that he has not been given the chance to regroup from the time he lost a lot of his assistatnt coaches. After all when you're Texas, you've got to be the best year in and year out regardless.

Do I like the guys personality? No, but he has the pedigre that means wins and given that chance elsewhere, I think he'd do it again. He's turned two programs around. And he'd still recruit well in Texas.

Would he be better than Bo? IMO yes. Any HC whether he's building a staff from scratch or replacing some assistants has to play a wait and see game to make sure they all work well together. Brown had that chemistry for over a decade at Texas because basically he had a group of coaches that worked well together depsite the cooker pressure attitude of Texas. He really hasn't had that option over the last handfull of years.

Now go ahead and tell me I'm full of shit:doh:

Somewhere there is a tweet from a sports writer, he said, "Mack Brown told me he is building a new office at North Carolina and he plans on using it. The next day Mack Brown left for Texas."

Mack Brown is perfect for Texas.

University of Texas denied Deloss Dodds was resigning then announced about one month later that Deloss Dodds was resigning on August 31, 2014, because he will then qualify for a $1,000,000 life time annuity.

Right now, the University of Texas is denying rumors of Mack Brown being gone.

In my opinion, Mack Brown will no longer be the head coach of Texas Football.

Mack Brown has it made and any HC at Texass would have made. All one needs to do is keep the Texass High School coaches happy. Mack Brown done a great job of that and he gets to pick his recruits. They don't recruit they pick who they want. However Mack Brown has picked some of the wrong recruits lately.

honestly, Mack doesn't strike me as that good of coach. Texas hasn't exactly been lighting it up the W column since Colt McCoy left. And that's with supposedly the best recruits in the nation, so I don't think he'd do any better than Bo.

I'm not here suggesting that Brown is going to be our next HC. But IMO Bo is NOT off the hook yet. If he behaves as he did in his last game--on field and off during the bowl game--I think the school will let him go. Brown if he's still interested in coaching would be one to consider. His current record is not entirely his fault. When you're under the gun to produce "now" you don't always hire the best fit but in Texas but you can always hire the best money can buy which is what I think Brown has being forced to do. So, I'm not so sure, Brown had the option of hiring the best fit. For those that think Brown cannot recruit outside of Texas, would he need to? This guy did turn around two different programs and had Texas in the rankings in all but two years--something that Bo hasn't done.

I think that most here agree that Bo leaving isn't a question of "if" but "when" and if the when is sooner than anticipated, like it or not Brown could/should be in the mix.

Mack Brown can't win with 5 star talent across the board....

There's no way he can win anywhere else

Well, he did win for over a decade with five star talent. Again, I don't think all that's happened recently with the Texas program is entirely his fault.

I think it's majority on mack.

He used qb to hide is weakness aka VY n colt
once his simple spread offense got expose by the big12 he was done.
He's gone through a squad full of cord/assistants nothing has seriously changed . since Nebraska left they havent won a big12 title or been a major force they used to be.

talent is there and yet simply issue have happen or come up. It's not like he has to recruit just show up and show face.

they destroyed a conference and got away with it with no blame

don't feel bad for mack brown.

And that is why they want him gone. They expect championships at Texas. Saw on TV today that Texas can pay Saban up to $10 million per year to coach their team.
