No wonder PM needed neck surgery.

To me the Colts have been one of the worst run organizations in the NFL over the past 20 years. They have just been lucky enough to land 2 of the top QB prospects of the last 20 years. Beyond that not many great decisions have been made. A great QB can cover up a lot of Front Office and coaching mistakes.

I also think that just shows the difference between the Pats and the Colts. Manning goes down for a year and the whole organization falls apart. Brady goes down and the team has the talent and coaching to at least look like a good team in the NFL.

I still remember him saying they had a 1st round grade on Brady...If that is the case I"m sorry but you don't have a 1st round pick guy still on your board in the 5th round and just pass on them all because you have Manning. You at least look at that guy as a good back up and hopefully a piece you can trade down the road.

Oh, no no no.... the Colts fell apart because Manning is the absolute GOAT. Some Colts fans were trying to make the case that Manning should be MVP that year because of what happened to the Colts without him...

You will never convince me that when Peyton went down that a conscious decision was not made to tank the season for the #1 pick, Ah la "Suck for Luck".

Some teams' owners and coaches "Make" things happen with their teams and others "Let" things happen. One is control and work, the other is just plain luck or circumstance. The first continue and are successful with small bumps in the road, the second are continually hoping that things will eventually work out.

As we speak, the Steelers are working their asses off to keep their team together. Brown gets the richest wide receiver contract in history and Bell gets tagged at $12.5M. It's expensive, but they cannot take the chance of a FA being anywhere near these two guys. They are making things happen.

Hall of FAME.

Being on tv will make you famous if your production on the field did not.

While I will agree I don't think they put the best effort forward I'm not going to sit here and say they tanked just for Luck. Have to remember that entire team was built around the idea of Manning being at the helm. The defensive players making the money were built to play with a lead and get after the QB. On offense the money was devoted to the weapons Manning would be throwing to because his quick release helped cover up some of the issues with the OL. So he goes down and the entire system comes crashing down.

For the Pats they have a very QB friendly system that allows them to have QB's other than Brady still find some success. They also have worked hard to usually build a very balanced defense that can stop the run and pass. Offensively they have kept money pretty well balanced throughout the roster to weapons and the OL. So just 2 very different outlooks on how to build a team and one lead to a franchise falling off the cliff and the other lead to a team that could keep their head above water even when a HOF QB was not on the field.
