I keep forgetting seven teams go to the playoffs. We actually don't have to catch anyone in the East. Two behind Green Bay and we play them next week. I know.......lol. just an FYI and a reason to watch Thursday.

Well sooner or later you have to win games , particularly conference games against your competition .

so far I have seen nothing that indicates we can .

I am not sure we can beat the bears

Got a lot of help today. This may be bad news for some, maybe even myself, but after today's events the Skins find themselves in right in the middle of a playoff chase. Big game Thursday.
NFC is wild this year.

Do you see the creativity in offensive scheme by 2nd year coach Siriani and Philly?
Get RR and his Carolina cronies out of here. Watching this makes me even more convinced we are running behind the time schemes on offense with Turner & company.

Im not as high on Turner as I once was, but I still think his offense works if the protection is there.

Wentz was on pace to throw for a good amount of yards and a bunch of TDs. Lot of picks too.

Maybe things look different when Cosmi and Wes come back, provided they put them in the right position.

Interested to see how Chase affects the defense.

Once we beat the Bears, I kinda jumped off the tank train. I either want to make the playoffs or go 2-15.

I'm in a weird position where I'm not bothered by a win or a loss at the moment. I do want to beat GB Sunday.

Based on the path we are traveling I like your chances against GB.

You guys are missing Adams, but Rodgers usually beats us.
It’s not just that, @Moab said it best in our team thread, we aren’t executing properly on any part of the team; with Adams I’d say we have the same record or be 4-2 at best. GB is currently unraveling. Lol

Not sure what to make of you guys. Dominated Tampa and then put up that stinker today.

It’s very confusing, many games we’ve played great for one half and then just forgotten how to play apparently. I’m still waiting for the game where either Rodgers or the team just goes off and they get their mojo going, sorry if it’s against you guys but I think the game against you guys is going to be at the very least close if GB’s current trend continues.

I agree with some of this but will slightly push back on some of it.

Here are our offensive numbers under Turner:
2022 = 17.0 pts a game (29th) = year to date
2021 = 19.7 pts a game (23rd)
2020 = 21.9 pts a game (25th)

Just out of curiosity, what makes you think his offense can work? The data shows the offense getting worse...much worse actually. I understand some of the excuses: COVID, injuries, OLine struggles, no true starter until 2022. That being said, I see some of the same habits with Turner that I do with Wentz. To clarify, there is always an excuse with Wentz. In Wentz's defense, he has only been here 6 games; Turner is going on year 3 with results getting worse each year. As I have said, either Turner is simply not a good OC or he has been victimized by things completely out of his control each and every year. I have seen a number of reasons as to "why" Turner is NOT successful and I am curious why there is a passion to defend him or to think he could be "good". Maybe he is the next great OC...I just don't see it in his tenure here OR his previous stops in his career. I could be wrong.

Wentz was on pace to throw for several TD and picks. His TD and INT ratio extrapolated out if he played 17 games would be about 30 TDs with 18 INTs. Yardage would sit around 4,500. Not a terrible year by any means, but not a good year considering his fumbles as well. Again, it is when those turnovers occur that plague Wentz. He also has 6 fumbles this, his QBR is good for 27th out of 32 and his completion % is at 62% which is BAD.

Not sure when Cosmi and Wes come back but I am sure they will help the struggling OLine. Same with Chase, I have not been impressed outside of his rookie year.

I believe it is best used in either MLB or NBA, but the adage is that "you are competing or rebuilding". Using that same philosophy, Rivera is literally doing neither here and that is a problem. He clearly is trying to win games, but if the season is lost, I doubt he goes into rebuild mode either. The team would have to go 7-4 to get to 9 wins, which would be the target for a WC correct? To do this, we will have to start carving in to DAL, Philly, NYG as we have 4 games left. Do you see us seriously winning any of those 4 games? DAL doesn't even have Dak back and they dismantled the team. The NYG are also legit and light years ahead of the Commanders. I think it is almost impossible for the entire NFC East division to go to the playoffs. Every team currently ahead of WSH would have to go 5-6...I don't see that happening do you? Do you see us knocking off the Packers, Colts, and 49ers? I don't see it.

I do agree with you that it is better to make the playoffs OR win 2 games. IF we made the playoffs, would it be worth it just to get the doors blown off? The team has shown that they CAN NOT hang with above-average teams. A playoff bid would also extend Rivera's tenure here....does anyone want to see that? I am afraid they will be 7-10 or 8-9 this year....thus, not rebuilding, nor really contending.

That's a lot to unpack. I've seen Turner's offense work for stretches. Whether it can work over the course of a season is still in doubt. The Skins just don't have an offensive line.

I know that you are down on Wentz and Scott, but how would you feel about Scott's chances of success with a QB you liked and a competent offensive line?

I never said we were going to make the playoffs. I just stated that the NFC is wild this year and that we are a game out with 11 to go. Crazy as it sounds the overall point I was trying to make was that Sunday's game is actually a big game.

Twenty-four hours ago I thought our season was done and it may be. It's just crazy that we are a game out and ATL, SEA, and SF are most likely gonna take a loss next week. Not to mention either NO or AZ is gonna be 2-5.

I guarantee the first thing out of Ron's mouth Monday morning is we are a game out with 11 to play.

I agree with you on the AWFUL offensive line for 2022. The excuse last year was that he "had no QB". Maybe you are right in that if he had a Patrick Mahomes and DAL offensive line, he would put up a lot of points. He probably would as Mahomes and the DAL OLine would be a match made in heaven. That being said, looking at his tenure prior to WSH, did anything stick out to you? I am not going to restate my former arguments but I have never seen any evidence that justified him being named OC for the team.

It does sound absurd that the team is 1 game out of the playoffs. However, that is currently and I doubt it ends up that way. It is a week-to-week league as you know. If Wentz is out for 3-6 games, yes, I think it is over for sure. Wentz has his good games and his bad games, as such, the team has a much better change of getting to the playoffs with Wentz than TH.

Through the first 5 games they played exactly a half in each game, today they should've checked into the Raddison and sat in the spa, cuz that's about what they did in this game. I'll give credit to the Jets for coming in and executing, but that performance by the Packers was flat out sad.

We're gonna find out just how good or bad Wentz was on Sunday for sure. To be fair the QBs in Carolina weren't world beaters either. That said, initially the Turner hire was a head scratcher for me.

Tanking might be futile knowing Dan is gonna pick the next QB. Do you trust Dan to pick and get the right coach?

Sauce is different, but your receivers drop everything.
