I know you should never assume, but lets say the Giants lose to the Panthers and either the Dolophins or Vikings. That puts them at 9 losses.

1. Skins win out.
Redskins 9-7

2. Skins beat Bills and Cowboys
Eagles lose to Cardinals and Giants
Redskins 8-8
Eagles 7-9

3. Skins lose to Bills and beat Eagles and Cowboys
Redskins 8-8 Seewp Eagles

4. Skins lose to Bills and Cowboys
Eagles lose to Cardinals and Giants
Giants lose to Dolphins, Panthers and Vikings
Redskins 7-9 sweep Eagles
Eagles 7-9
Giants 6-10

Now of course Eli and the Giants could get hot, win out, and go win the Super Bowl again.

At the end of the day, if we win out, we are in.

If we beat the Bills and Eagles, and the Giants lose a game, we are in and week 17 becomes a non factor.

Everyone on the radio this morning was saying this Bills game doesn't matter. They were saying that even with a loss, next week is for first place. What was pissing me off is that they failed to mention that if we lose to the Bills next week and the Eagles beat the Cardinals the season will be on the line, not just the division. We would be facing elimination. Who wants to go to the Linc facing elimination. Not me.

Forgot to mention, if the Skins and Eagles win this week and we lose to the Eagles next week we are still out. Even if the Eagles were to lose to the Giants the following week and we beat Dallas we would still have the same amount of division losses.

However, this year common opponents trumps conference record in tie-breakers. That is new this year. Eagles would have a better record in common opponents.

If we handle our business, we're in. Cardinals/Eagles game is HUGE though.

1st road win this year.
1st win with a Cousins turnover
Lets see if we can win back to back games.

Shark said it best. It would be great if we can treat the last week of the season as a bye week. The Giants are going to lose one more time.

Shark, are you sure about that? Lets say the Giants lose to the Vikings, but beat the Dolphins, Panthers, and Eagles. Division records would be the same, 3-3. However, they would beat us in the common opponents tie-breaker. They would have beaten the Dolphins and Panthers, who we lost to, and we would have only beaten one team that they didn't. The Saints. Remember, common opponenets is now the tie-breaker after head to head, and division.

Just ran it. Skins beat Bills, Eagles, and lose to the Cowboys. Giants beat Dolphins, Panthers, Eagles, and lose to the Vikings. Giants win division.

Makes tonight very interesting.

The Eagles play Arizona next, a tough game. That is an opportunity for Washington if possible to carve out a lead here. Buffalo is pretty tough and a good test for the natives, but beatable as Philly showed.

Nice post kbso. Very doubtful that the Giants beat the Panthers. The Panthers are going for the perfect season so they wont rest any players. I think we should get in with wins against Bills and Eagles. Assuming Arizona beats the Eagles the eagle win should eliminate the Eagles. If the Giants beat the Panthers and Vikings they deserve to get in.

Thanks Dean. The problem with me is, I think the Eagles are going to beat the Cardinals. Hope I am wrong. That's a different team with Bradford in there. That Cowboys loss on Monday is already rearing its ugly head. One game at a time I guess.

IF the Giants lose to Carolina , and we win against the BIlls and Philly, week 17 doesnt really matter. Im assuming the Giants will win tonight. If the Giants win both those games, and beat the Eagles, they win the Division.

As long as NY loses to Carolina and we win the next two, week 17 does not matter.

Again, bottom line is, if we can beat the Bills and Eagles, we SHOULD win the Division.

aside from the scenarios for the Skins getting into the postseason ... also interesting to look at how the viking, packers & seahawks are affected.

A week 17 win for the vikings over the packers would give them the division and put the packers on the road vs winner of NFC east.

Believe me, I want to get in, but it pains me to know that if we do, we will have to play the Seahawks............again.

the cards need to clinch a playoff bye . they will show up vs eagles why ? because they have the packers next and finish at seatle . the pack could overtake them if they lose 3 straight and GB wins 3 straight

Ah - assuming that they lose - it is good experience. It lets the team know that they are making progress & also gives them a chip on their shoulder for the following season.
