You are talking about just the starting 9.
They can, and NEED to add more depth. The can't keep having even small/short term injuries preventing them from putting reasonable pieces in place until they return. They need bats off the bench. They need options to continually have a DH hitting above the mendoza line. They should be trying to add more borderline major league ready outfielders that can play in Tacoma and be ready. They need more options in the minors for infielders that can pop up to the big team without carrying a .17x average while here.
The question is what budget will Dipoto be given for next year. If it is more of the same, then we aren't going to see a substantial change. If the payroll goes up substantially, then we should expect quite a few changes.
FWIW I'm not holding my breath they add enough to the payroll to solve all of these issues.
