Pittsburgh-Boston game is rescheduled for Saturday at 12:30 pm. Pittsburgh-Buffalo game (schedule for Saturday) has been moved to April 23.

This is the right choice (heck, the team can't even get out of the city for the game tomorrow), but I'm sad...because I can't watch a game until the playoffs now. But security is so much more important right now.

They had to move the Buffalo game because the way it stood, if they tried to play the Bruins-Pens game on the remaining, common off days for both teams... The Bruins would have had to play 4 days in a row.

The issue being that Boston plays every other day from here on out. There's no fair solution.

The Bruins are already playing Ottawa the day after the season was supposed to end. The league will find a way to reschedule games. It's unfortunate, but I have no problem with the cancellation of games & think it's the right thing to do.

And there may not be any real affect on the standings. The Pens likely have the #1 seed locked up, the Bruins likely the #2, and the Hawks likely the #1 overall.

If the Pens finish 1pt behind Chicago for the Presidents trophy and they still haven't played Boston (make-up game) then I would think they would play it.

If there is nothing that can be changed in the standings by NOT playing it, I don't think they will. It would be senseless to do so.

The game against Ottawa could determine whether they make the playoffs or not. It will also probably determine their seeding. It could be a HUGE game for the Sens.

With Boston's compressed schedule down the stretch, I wouldn't be surprised if they are a fairly quick out in the playoffs this year.
It was tight to start with, and then you've got this reshuffling plus the makeup game from the snow storm.

Boston's on a bit of a skid lately (0-2-1), and their schedule is rough the rest of the way. Very condensed, then no real break until the postseason.
