Ray Lewis is known for the saying ...Pissed off for greatness. Greatness is one of those things that not just happens. It takes hard work, determination, and a ton of heart.

The Giants have won 2 World Series in 3 years and achieved greatness. When you win there are always going to be people who want you to fail. They want to be able to point at you and say ahhhh those guys were lucky and now they are coming back to earth now. Everyone wants their team to achieve greatness and when you win it all 2 out of 3 years there is a form of jealousy that forms and if you take the last 5 letters of that word jealousy it says it all. It is lousy that when people reach greatness and it feels great others want you to feel like you did'nt earn it and knock you down.

The Giants are not a fancy team . They do it the hard way sometimes . They don't have the big boppers that hit tons of HR's and light up a scoreboard. What they did was WIN ! Boom ...stick that in your pipe and smoke it. This year a lot of stuff happened and they ran into the perfect storm but to try and take away what they did is wrong. The Giants are a team that just came together and got it done. That 4 game sweep against the mighty Tigers who everyone in world was picking to dismantle the Giants...Strike 3 you're out ! They earned it. Winning three in row in Cincinnati to advance...they earned it ! Winning the last three to beat the Cards for the NLCS ...they earned it.

They earned those Championships . Once you step between the white lines and compete against someone else who wants it just as bad as you do it's EARNED. They did not win all their playoff games by 10 runs and blow people off the field but they did dominate through pitching and the last time I checked a 3-2 win counts just as much as a 10 run win. No team in the NL has repeated a WS Title for almost 40 years and it's not fair to expect that the Giants were going to do it this year. Everyone is gunning for you, the injuries, and just the mental and day to day grind caught up with them. Repeating is not easy and when you add all the dynasty talk , it all piles up.

Everyone needs a bounce or two to go their way but to win a Championship it is always earned. Chicks may dig the long ball but they love World Series rings 100 times more and the Giants have all the chicks looking at them. I hope the Giants come out in 2014 and are pissed off for some respect because I know I am pissed. They earned those rings. Much respect.

Go Giants !!

The Giants to get a lot of respect from other teams and front offices. Maybe not so much from fans. But the people who know baseball DO respect the Giants for what they did. Because the Giants weren't 100+ win teams. They didn't have the overwhelming talent that say, the 2002 Mariners did. But they won when it counted most.

I was mainly talking about the press especially the east coast bias that we deal with on a daily basis here on the West coast. Some of the east coast fans to don't give up the respect because they don't see the west coast teams play late at night. Anything west of the Mississippi that is won usually is always questioned. I am tired of all the bias for the East coast teams.

Would it really hurt them to tip the cap a little more to the West.

Whatever ...I hope the Giants use it to get fired up that much more for 2014.

Go Giants !!

That's true. You see a lot more 49ers coverage on the Least Coast than you do SF Giants. And it's the Giants who won 2 championships the past 2 years.

It's more pro-NYC bias than pro east coast bias.

The national networks are based in NYC and most of their broadcasters live
in the NYC area.

As far as the '49ers are concerned they don't have Joe Montana anymore. Do I ever wish my Patriots had
gotten HIM somehow! I'm just glad neither the "Cryants" or the "Flameouts" did!

Meaning no disrespect to any current SF Giant, I don't think any of them are as good at their game as
Joe Montana was at his.

I am a Reds fan, but I really like watching the Giants play. Just a bunch of cool dudes playin ball.
SF also has the best announcers.

It is hard to maintain elite championship status year in year out, SF has the squad to rebound and be back next year.

Thanks dude, classy post. Agreed we are lucky to have the best announcers in the game. A lot of locals don't realize how good they got it there.

I got no hate for the Reds, and I like Dusty Baker plenty. Among the NL playoff contenders I'm rooting for the Pirates and Reds.
