Three tiers of Pirate hitters this year.

Top tier - OPS above .800 -
McC
Jones
McGehee
McKenry

I just realized that our problem is that we don't have enough Irish guys. McCutchen is Irish right?

Second tier - not entirely embarrassing. OPS somewhere around .550
Mclouth
Presley
Walker
Harrison

And then there's the guaranteed outs - OPS below .350
Barmes
Barajas
Alvarez
Tabata

What really sucks for us is that the guys at the bottom of the list are in many cases having more at bats than the guys toward the top. McGehee and Jones have been limited. McKenry, Mclouth, Harrison all have 15 ABs or less.

I think it's very important that we maximize the opportunities for McGehee. He's got a history of success and he probably should be playing every day. Jones is probably being handled properly.

I think McGehee should be starting everyday. At first against lefties, with Harrison on third, and at third against righties with Jones at first. He looks to have found his old form, which is pretty solid form.

Or call up Hague and send Alvarez down, play McGehee every day at third and platoon Jones and Hague at first. I actually like that better.

Pedro with the home run to tie and Barmes scores the go ahead run. Imagine that.

Pedro even drew a walk today.

How often does a guy have two hits on a season, and they're both home runs? :D
