Saturday's race was pretty good, despite the botched attempt at a standing start. Hopefully, Sunday's will be entertaining as well.

Upon further review, INDYCAR has reinstated Dario Franchitti's 3rd place finish at the 1st Toronto race.

This alters our PTP results from that event as follows:

bored at work: retains all 4 points for his picks
Retroram52: loses 2 points awarded for picking Marco Andretti to finish 3rd
IndyAndy: gains 1 point for picking Franchitti out of position

Thus, the season totals are now as follows:

bored at work: 17 points
IndyAndy: 13 points
Retroram52: 6 points

Hey IndyAndy. Not quite sure why I would lose 2 points for picking Andretti to finish third. If anything, I picked him out of position. Can you explain?

You lost the points because Dario's reinstatement to the 3rd spot meant that Marco did not finish on the podium at all. Points are only awarded for your picks if they place somewhere in between 1st & 3rd.

Oh, I did not know that Franchitti was reinstated to his third place finish. I turned the tube off after it was mentioned race control had made the decision on blocking Will Power. Obviously, they changed their ruling. On to the next race we go. Thanks.

After seeing the replay, I think that Power's tires just lost grip right there, causing him to slide into RHR's lane. I'd put that one down to a 'racing incident' - although RHR could have been a bit more patient.

Look for every team who finished behind Dario to file a protest over his putting less than two full laps on the Red tires. Glad that he didn't make the podium this time.

Anyways; here's how we did:

bored at work: 5 points - picked Dixon to win.
IndyAndy: 8 points - picked Dixon to win & Helio for 2nd.
Retroram52: 3 points - picked Bourdais for 3rd & got Dixon out of position.

Now for a couple of weeks off, before heading to Mid-Ohio for August 4th. - A track that Dixon has done really well on in recent years.

As for the races, I really love these double headers. It has me looking into possibly going to Houston in October to check out a couple of races. I hope they keep them on the schedule next year and beyond.
