The 2022 F-1 season is upon us and the opener is in Sakhir, Bahrain. The F-1 circuit in Bahrain hosted last week all the teams who were testing the new cars. Lots of stories going on with all of the driver changes, team changes, and very new livery systems with bigger 18" wheels and multiple air management systems body panels. The big question is whether Hamilton can finally get his record-setting eighth championship along with Mercedes. Red Bull is hot coming off of their championship with the Max man. So here we go. get your picks in before Sunday at the start of the cars engines and we shall see who is the champion this year on this board.
New changes for 2022 here on the board. We now have a sponsor. A one-year deal has been signed and this is a engineering car firm right here in Phoenix who has interests in racing both in the U.S. and internationally. Stevens Enterprises or the Silent Partner (SP) is our new sponsor.
So the following changes take place on Sunday per race: If you correctly select First Place, 7 points will be awarded; Second Place, 5 points; Third place 3 points; Fourth Place is 2 points; 3 points are awarded if you run the table including Fourth Place. Total Points possible per race is now 20 points. If F-1 does those crazy competitions again, the points awarded will reflect what is given by F-1 as last year. First place was two points and the other podium finishes were 1 point each.
At the end of the season, the Champion will receive a $12.00 cash award mailed to your residence. Second Place will receive $5.00 cash award and Third Place will receive $3.00 cash award all mailed to your residences. Only the top three positions in our championship competition will receive a cash award. If there is a tie, the two members will be paid equally the amount of that position. So if there are two Second Place winners, each will receive $5.00. If you start the competition and disappear for three consecutive races or five hit-and-miss races, you forfeit cash awards if you are the top three at the end of the year. This per the contract language and no cash award will be levied to that competitor.
I know this is a small start but we shall see who shows-up and if the response is favorable, the cash awards may increase going forward in the next contract. I hope everyone comes out for the cash awards, new this year as well as the racing. Enjoy and see you all on this board!!
